Not set in stone they'll win their group yet. I have faith in him to balls it up.
So if I look through a book on Everton history in a decades time, it will ignore league position and tell me the points total, the number of wins and whether they were a dads army? but only for one season, ignoring the next 2 years?...
You sure about that? I suspect they will show league position too and probably all 3 years of his time here in which case it will show the epic decline he oversaw in our league position.
Lol.3-1 up with 15 minutes left.
3-3
Phenomenal that we don't still have to witness this kind of capitulation any more, and have exported it to Belgium.
And we finished 13th in a zero horse race in the most open season since the inception of the Premier League under Martinez (no way would we of beaten Norwich with El Fraudo at the helm before you mention us finishing 11th, which is still awful).Lol.
Realty check for you mate: we're now 7th n a 6 horse race.
Let's scrap 7 of our league titles. Martinez' 5th place finish with 72 points is far and away a better achievement. In Everton's 139 year history (either with or without three points for a win - which came in 1981) Martinez's 72 point season has been passed three times only: by Kendall in 84/85, 85/86, 86/87...but even here that was with 4 extra games in a season (42 games as opposed to 38). And no one else has achieved winning 21 games in one season since the games were reduced down from 42 to 38.
21 wins and 72 points from 38 games. I'm sorry, but just recognise the effort, appreciate it and move on to denigrating his other two seasons if need be. But be respectful of a historic effort by both players and manager that season.
As stated before: it will be a long te to wait before that tally is approached, never mind bettered.

He even managed to ruin that season, too. We beat Arsenal and should have sailed into 4th, he lost three of his last four games of the seasonlol.
I love everytime Martinez fails. Absolute fraud of a manager that will be found out at international level, too.
Martinez has a relegation from the Premier League on his CV. No doubt we would have been his second casualty.
Thank God for Koeman.
Sorry mate, but all of that ^^^ detracts nothing from the facts of the matter.Let's scrap 7 of our league titles. Martinez' 5th place finish with 72 points is far and away a better achievement.

He mentioned that Kendall beat Martinez' total in two of his season that we won the league. By his logic, the other titles we won (7) aren't as good because they didn't beat the fraud's total.9 titles?
But what did we actually achieve? If we finished 5th this season on 65 points, it would be exactly the same at the end of the day.Sorry mate, but all of that ^^^ detracts nothing from the facts of the matter.
I stated 2013/14 was a record PL season for wins and points - it was.
I said that in points terms it was also only bettered by three other seasons in our 139 year history - also true.
I stated that given that it was achieved with four less games than the other three seasons it is statistically impressive - it is.
You can use the word fraud if it helps you out of a spot I suppose. But they are the facts - the rock that your arguments about Martinez crash on and break up into nothing.
As said, its easy getting past this. It just needs another Everton manager to come along and put a season together that surpasses those number of wins and points. That should be easy if a fraud can do it. Shouldn't it...?
I didn't say it achieved anything. I said it was a record...and it IS.But what did we actually achieve? If we finished 5th this season on 65 points, it would be exactly the same at the end of the day.
Maybe if you recognised how terrible Martinez has been in all but one season in management, I'd actually give you a bit of credit, but you don't.
That season was the exception in his failure of a career.
But we didn't, did we? That's what you don't seem to understand.I didn't say it achieved anything. I said it was a record...and it IS.
It's at least a measure of a season statistically speaking that can back up the now fading memory of some (hurriedly faded for many) that we played a lot of cavalier, swashbuckling, go for it football under RM and that if you do that you CAN get the required points that usually get you a CL spot.
Does that hit home...at all?
