Shortlist for The Best FIFA Men's Coach
  • Massimiliano Allegri - Juventus
  • Stanislav Cherchesov - Russia national team
  • Zlatko Dalic - Croatia national team
  • Didier Deschamps - France national team
  • Pep Guardiola - Manchester City
  • Jurgen Klopp - Liverpool
  • Roberto Martinez - Belgium national team
  • Diego Simeone - Atletico Madrid
  • Gareth Southgate - England national team
  • Ernesto Valverde - Barcelona
  • Zinedine Zidane - Real Madrid

Apaert from Turnip Southgate, Roberto is where he belongs: in elite company.

Recognised as one of the best managers in the world.

...and the carpetbagger sacked him and hired Koemageddon.

Klopp is in that list David.

Also, how is that a 'shortlist'?

Klopp is in that list David.
...and deservedly so.

It cant be denied he dragged a load of donkeys into a CL final.

And to keep the animal analogy going: Roberto is on the shortlist because he's been able to herd cats...cats with massive egos....and took Belgium to their best ever year in their history.

Only Zidane there is fit to be on the same list as Guardiola. It's not even a contest. If Pep doesn't win the award then I won't be recognising it as legitimate.

Yes predictably lazy list from Fifa, only surprise choice being the Russian manager. Roberto in there for same reason as Southgate and Dalic, WC last 4. He can add it to his CV though!

World's best coach shortlist....none of your PL manager of the year tat that can be won by a feller who secured 7th place in a rubbish league.

Like so many on here, I think you under-rate the managerial qualities possessed of Roberto. Herd cats? pffft!!..as if that's all he did.
Bobby took a team of no-marks and moulded them into a team of winners (well, third place getters...but who's counting).

Herd cats???... you do him disservice by such damning with faint praise...

The fact that Southgate and Plopp got nominated shows me everything I need to know about that list and how it celebrates failure.
Not my cup of tea, but: most successful English manager since Robson three decades ago; CL finalist manager.

Hopefully FIFA fully rank the shortlist when they come to chose the winner next month. My ranking:

Didier Deschamps - France national team
Zinedine Zidane - Real Madrid
Zlatko Dalic - Croatia national team
Massimiliano Allegri - Juventus
Ernesto Valverde - Barcelona
Diego Simeone - Atletico Madrid
Roberto Martinez - Belgium national team
Pep Guardiola - Manchester City
Jurgen Klopp - Liverpool
Stanislav Cherchesov - Russia national team
Gareth Southgate - England national team

Roberto on a shortlist for FIFA manager of the year - his rag-tag detractors on here left scrambling on the ground for stuff about Jason Derulo and mid-table finishes.

It's tragic. It really is.
I have pretty catholic (note, small 'c') taste in music but I just don't get how so many of you on here keep going on about Jason Derulo...what do you see in him?
