There's no one of the calibre of David Moyes, Ronald Koeman or Sam Allardyce, that's for sure.![]()
But it does.
Martinez for 1.

He turned Liverpool down.Everton should be the biggest club he'll ever manage
Yeah, what's Martinez ever done eh?But it does.
Martinez for 1.
Yeah, what's Martinez ever done eh?
Ressurected a football club
Won a trophy
Set Everton season records
Took a team to the World Cup SF
...if only he was David Moyes who's done erm....nothing.....

Ha Ha Ha.Koeman 9 trophies.
Martinez fluked 1 cup.
Neither will win a thing ever again, but 9 is bigger than 1.
And LOL at resurrected a club, if sending them to 11th is resurrecting I would hate to see what you consider killing 1.
There was a Swansea City documentary that underlined that very transformative role that Roberto had and which their supporters acknowledge. But you know best, eh?Which club did he resurrect? Not that old Swansea myth is it? That's already been debunked so I won't bother repeating it.
Moyes led us in our best ever Premier League season. Finished 4th. Prize money is awarded for positions, not points. European qualification is awarded for positions, not points. Leicester win league with 81, Slippy and his mates 2nd with 84 - one celebrated, the other lot were in tears.
He turned Liverpool down.
I think he recognised they are a big club (in numbers of replica shirts and key-rings sold in south east Asia and Australasia, obviously), but he turned them down because he likes to keep control of all of the playing side's affairs (transfers, academy strategy etc) and also because he couldn't stand the shame of being associated with a club with a terribly dark history. I think it scared him. Not surprisingly.
indeed..his "greatest fan" never saw the carnage of his last 2 seasons at EFC .....did he ? walking in the Cleeve hills he was.....lollollollollolHe must surely be in line for a Knighthood soon, for his services to football![]()
True mate. Especially the final part. That reads like something from Hans Christian Anderson lol
LOL.True mate. Especially the final part.
I think he said at the time he had a young family and he felt that Liverpool's history was too dark and sinister for him to go there, work and not take that darkness back home with him.

The moment Kenny Jacket takes a country to the WC SFs is the time to take that assessment seriously.Transformative very different from resurrection! No-one denies Roberto did a good job at Swansea. It's you who seems to overlook his predecessor, Kenny Jackett, who got them promotion to Div. I and then lost out in the play-off final for another promotion, won the Welsh Cup and the Football League Trophy at Wembley.
He left Roberto the a solid foundation on which to build - sound familiar? He did well there, but he didn't resurrect them. But you know best, eh?![]()
