Lukaku = Everton signing of the past 30 years.

Debate ends.
Only fair to weigh this up against the collective worst Everton signing since 1878 - Roberto importing the spine of Wigan Athletic (Robles, Alacaraz, McCarthy, and Kone) to Everton Football Club. You won't have been there to see it, but it was like someone had staged a Greek tragedy at Goodison Park. Grown men weeping bitter tears in the stands at the absolute state of these imposters in the Royal Blue Jersey.

Lol, as if you, the ultimate football snob, would prefer Lukaku to Kanchelskis

Given yourself away there Dave
Scored much more, fetched a fee well in excess of Kanchelskis. The debate was over 'best signing' not aesthetics....though I;m not sure I;d say Kanchelskis was that much more than his pace. He could play, but I wouldn't have him up there in the talent stakes of Everton;s past players.

Lukaku got half as many as cottee so by your ridiculous logic was half the player ? You make decent points on occasion but You’re a complete balloon sometimes.

1995/96 kanchelskis was absolutely fantastic, since you like stats so much I think he scored his 16 goals in better than 1:2 ,not forgetting he scored two at anfield for us to win there . I absolutely loved watching him , it was a pleasure although I don’t think there was much streaming then so maybe you didn’t see too much of him .

By the way lukaku did great for us but to dismiss some excellent players just to allow you to keep kicking the arse out of whatever point you’re currently kicking the arse out of isn’t just annoying it’s unsurprising.
Did Cottee get us a fee 3x we paid for him?

McCarthy - one of the worst signings since 1878.

FFS mate, did you ever watch Everton in the 18 months before McCarthy picked up a serious injury? He was as good as holding midfielder as we've ever had.

Unreal.

I responded to you laughing a player who was brilliant for us . So to clarify it’s about how many goals he scored or what we got in terms of profit ? Therefore whatever we lose makes them the worst signing ? On fees didn’t we sign Beckford on a free and sell him for £3m , that a huge percentage profit . Is he up there , Or do we then dance back to goals ?

Dave, about to jump the shark any minute now

The initial point made here was that because Martinez didn't sign VVD he was a clown...the poster in question leaving out the most valuable signing we've had in the last 30 years.

He was put right and then others come in with the whataboutery.

Martinez's CV speaks for itself. I think we can safely say it eclipses most Everton managers'...especially the ginger bollocks one who still mystifyingly has his supporters in this thread.

Must not feed the troll

Haha, I have read some absolute laughable comments in this thread but the last 2 pages have taken the biscuit.

To actually say that all Kanchelskis had was pace [there is not an emoji out there that correctly portrays my shock at this statement]

Cahill a no mark????????????

All just to try and prove by buying a very good player for us who scored a lot of goals that Martinez is the bestest manager and greatest human that has ever lived on this fine planet as ours.

I sometimes think it is a wind up and sometimes I am just not sure!

A very in depth argument, I have to admit you have this debate by the balls now. What has he won? I always laugh at that as an argument for a team game (unless it is about a manager).

Anyway, back on topic. Martinez is a ballbag.

Tom Finney will be spinning in his grave to know despite being rated one of the greats , dave on the Internet has dismissed his career to prove martinez was boss .

Fees gone astronomically upwards do why even bring that into it?

You are surely fishing here though with regards to Kanchelskis, either that or your mind state is in need of some serious help.

It's almost like he goes into a thread, sees what the consensus is, and then deliberately argues against it, even if that argument contradicts a previous argument he has made in another thread

I'm sure that's not the case though...

Ha Ha. "Troll". I merely put fireward the facts of Martinez's achievements and his dwindling army of detractors stamp their feet.

There there.

An idea might be for you to provide a cogent argument.

Your like a Brexiteer or a religious fundamentalist there is absolutely no point in debating with you facts have no relevance in your world . I pulled you up on your backing for trump ages ago you deflect , @Eggs quotes and pulls you up about saying you’ll admit brands has done well if the signings get fit and start to perform you switch horses to be going on about selling players , you say vault me if we’re drawing with the RS at HT we’ll win somebody does and you blame Pickford for his mistake even though the score at that stage was 0-0.

it’s about goals scored , no it’s about goalscoring rate , it’s about profit , no i said it’s about goalscoring . It’s about points , well trophies unless they’re not the FA Cup martinez won , others don’t count ,he got to the World Cup semi but not like Southgate did that doesn’t count martinez got there better .

Listen people make mistakes I know I do , people like players or individuals more than others and that’s fine . To dance on the head of a pin to avoid saying you’re wrong or to continue pursuing a point in some pursuit of perceived glory doesn’t seem completely normal I’ll be honest .
