Martinez new Belgium head coach

Getting linked with the Real Madrid job then Celtic inside 6 months. The bloke is clearly desperate to get back into club football and having his agent tout his name everywhere hoping some idiot chairman decides to call them back.

Garbage manager.

Dave, you forgot to add it's an exclusive on a Mickey mouse website.
What you have to understand is that these lads usually make stuff up, so a speculative article on a dodgy football webpage is like the gold standard in veracity for them.

It's utterly tragic they carry their war on.

As if Roberto would go to that league.

FFS, the clutching at straws from the army of defeated critics is getting more and more lame.

He proved you wrong lads.

  • Short-listed FIFA coach of the year
  • Took Belgium to the WC SFs
  • Got Belgium to world ranked number one international team
  • Overseen Belgium's best ever run of results in their 113 year history
The war ended last summer, but you lot are still hiding out in the jungle like Japanese soldiers in 1950 thinking it's still raging.

Lol.

Southgate doing the same with the England squad in similar circumstances.

I love all that above.

The detailed stories about Martienz taking the soft option of the Celtic job...when he's not going there and still the most successful ever manager of Belgium.

Keep telling yourselves fairy stories lads. It must be a comfort for you.

No, Dave, I did say that I didn't think Roberto would take the Celtic job, but that it's the sort of opportunity he will be looking out for - a team guaranteed success, bequeathed to him by a manager who's gone on the bigger things, rather than a struggling team or a 'fallen giant' left by a manager sacked for failure.

For now, though, I think he's shrewd enough to continue surfing to success on the backs of Hazard, De Bruyne etc right through to the European Championships.

It's just the Scottish press looking for some rubbish to write about. If you think our footy media down here are desperate you should read the work of the Hans Christian Andersens up there.

Roberto will go to a decent La Liga team or a fallen Italian giant.

He's on minimum wage, though, in managerial terms. That has got to hurt the pride of a brass-necked Tory like Roberto. Remember this is a man who demanded third party arbitration to extract every last penny from his contract, after dragging our great club into the cellar of the premier league. If he's prepared to fight tooth and nail for an 11 million pound payoff, instead of just hiding his face in public and quietly trousering 10 million, then you can bet that his current renumeration is a source of extreme consternation.
I am expecting some movement from Bobby for these reasons - his famous role as team mascot in the WC defeat of Brazil has a shelflife, he needs to cash in whilst people still know who he is.

Weird question, but is Bob confirmed to be a Tory? Like, did he actually come out and say he was one like Frank Lampard?
Judge a man by his actions, first and foremost, goodisonopheliac. If it walks like a grasping Tory multi-millionaire, talks like a grasping Tory multi-millionaire then you know the rest. No need to overthink this one.

"Tory".

Ha Ha Ha Ha.

FFS, you know the barrel has been scraped as hard as possible when utter 'kin tosh like that gets trundled out.

Lads - you lost. Just accept it and move on.

If you have a very clear clause in your contract; isn't it only natural you get paid what you're owed. Regardless of who you are, what's your profession etc... It's only fair, pacta sunt servanda. That doesn't make you a Tory. If they sack a normal worker, pretty certain he/she would also like the complete severance payment and not a payment in part even though his/her unsatisfactory work might have been a reason for his/her dismissal. Just like Koeman is apparently entitled to a top-up on his contract with the Dutch FA. The person to blame here is the person who negotiated the contract on behalf of the club.

Btw I don't think he's a Tory. He's paying his (high- a lot higher than in the UK) taxes, he does his acts of appearance for free etc... He talks about social cohesion, inclusion for gay footballers, and similar themes. He refused a raise when he signed his new contract, because he wanted the money to go to grass-roots football in Belgium etc...
