I admit newcastle and pardew does spring to mind, but then again bobby aint no pardew and he certainly wouldnt be jumping straight into another contract unless he really does see his future here and to be happening before his spending spree, surely can only b good news in terms of knowing he will have the backing on building this mighty club back up! uncle bobby is here to stay! now spend some pennies m8!!!

I initially thought that too, but then I realised that it's basically a 2 year extension, not 5 years on top of the 3 years that were remaining on his contract, so it's all good.

I made that mistake too!

He was one year into a three year that would have expired in 2016. He has now signed a new five year to 2019 so it is a 3 year extension.

Still very happy, and I believe he signed on the basis that Bill gives him the money he needs for his "targets"
