I said it a while ago, he was only "amazing" last season because he was better than the utterly appalling pair of Keane and Mina. Keane especially has improved on last season, while Mina has his good days and bad days, much like Mason. Neither of the latter two would get a game for anybody above or around us in the table. I'd suggest Mason spends less time getting stripes shaved into his eyebrows and start getting the basics right on the field as he's definitely off form right now. Thinks he's a lot better than he is.
I don't know why people think Keane was bad last year but putting that aside it also helped that we spent a good portion of last season just aiming at DCL's head. It makes it easier when there is no expectation but defending deep and hoofing it.

Inappropriate Language
Such short-termism with footie fans. Lad was immense last season with a consistent run of games. He missed a large chunk of this season with injury and now has flitted in and out of the team at RB and CB with different combinations all over. He was pretty poor tonight but he’s certainly had more great games than bad ones. Maybe he’s not as good as the others for a start now but he’s certainly good enough to be in this squad.
He couldn't do it at West Brom. He's arrogant and doesn't give a ,[Poor language removed] about the team he plays for.

Well, the whole team was crap last season, and he was a regular part of it. He's a lot better this season.

...as folk will know I’m not a fan of the lad as a first choice starter. I don’t mind his attitude but I don’t think he’s a particularly good defender and there’s a misconception that he’s fast when I don’t think he is.

i know mine is an unpopular view, but I don’t understand why he starts games at CB when we can rotate Mina, Keane and Godfrey.

Im with you on this one 100%
The only thing of note he's done was to put Firminho in the stands.

He plays backward passes when playing fullback and constantly gives needless fouls away through stupidity or being the wrong side of his man.

Also the fact that Godfrey has been a better left back than CB (he's been Norwich levels to be fair) makes him immune from blame apparently.

Again...we've conceded 9 goals with Godfrey at CB
