Like Iwobi he has been vastly improved under Frank, I would keep him as I doubt we would get a big fee anyway and there could actually be a player there.

I think there has been some input from Cole on his defending and as a result we have seen an improvement.
The problem with centre backs is that when the team is playing badly they can be left very exposed and any mistake in the Premier league can be costly. I think he's a decent Premier league centre back and a good squad option.
But possibly not good enough as a first choice if we want a top 8 finish next season.

Last year he was on my "hope we sell" list. However he's done a very decent job recently. I'd be happy if he stays but also not upset if he goes. Not a clue what he's valued at though, if it's sub 10m then keep, we'd not replace him for that.

I'm sure they would be takers but you've just said it - the promoted sides who may wants to replace Championship players with perceived decent Premier League ones.

It's a fair point. The problem is, we cant replace 20 players in a window. To some extent some players will have to be part of a transition. The hope has to be, that those involved get pushed to be bench players.
No we can't and I'm not sure we need to. I think better quality in a couple of areas will change the dynamic of the side massively. One of those areas is definitely centre half though, so I find it slightly odd that there was a rush of people saying keep him he's fine etc because he's not really. I get that he isn't the worst player in the world to have on the bench, but neither are any of the others to be fair. Some of them have to go, and i'd be no more inclined to keep Holgate than I would any of the other centre halves.
