Southampton set to contribute 42p and a Chomp bar a week towards Holgate's £60k a week Everton salary, with the defender set to return to his parent club at the end of the season to see out the final year of his contract.

We might scoff at Southampton but are not in a position to. Right now, they are more likely to be in the Premier League next season than we are.

Saying that, it’s not a matter of ‘who’s better’, it’s a matters of ‘who’s least worst’. I think Holgate is the worst defender at the club, Dyche clearly saw enough in his disastrous cameo’s last season.
