I mean, he's made it clear numerous times that he's a septic like. I'm surprised you hadn't clocked it tbh, you just have to look at the "World Football" forum

Sort it out Barney, no excuse for not doing your research!

Getting a good old grilling here tonight

Either way. Holgate's boss. Pass it on!

How does it show him up exactly? He has picked him , praised him , included him in the squad and played him . He is following the accepted pathway for a young player being gradually brought into a team. Why start him over Coleman who is an experienced talented PL full back, especially when Holgate is primarily a CB. It's particularly ironic that Coleman was once in the same position with us crying for him to get more game time, yet when he got it he still made mistakes. Now Coleman is not flavour of the month in true fashion people turn on him and demand the latest young player replace him. In 8 years time you'll probably be criticising Holgate and demanding the latest young thing replace him forthwith, pathetic.
Ahem.....that said Holgate is brilliant and yes I'd like to see Davies used more.

Holgate was playing boss, hardly put a foot wrong, but was kicked to the bench as soon as Coleman was fit enough to come back in, it shouldn't have happened, Coleman should have been made to fight for his place back.

You see I dont agree with this.

If you lose your place due to bad form or a stupid red card and your replacement comes in and does a job, then sure.

But if you lose your place due to injury, I dont agree.

Would agree if it was a striker/ midfield player who pulled the strings (or it was Cleverley filling in!) just think at the time Holgate was playing really well and was adequately filling in for Coleman.

How long do you then keep him in for ? Until his inexperience begins to cost goals ,because at some point it will. Do you wait until the same fans who demanded his selection are giving him stick and demanding that Coleman be restored? He is still a kid, no club throws kids straight in for extended periods unless they have to. We didn't have to because we had an experienced, talented full back to step back in. This isn't unusual to Koeman it's the way most managers always deal with the situation.

I think that if a player is performing then it's not right to boot them as soon as the other player is fit

You should have to earn your place, even if that's just from training well and showing you want it

You keep him in as long as he's playing really well, once a few mistakes start creeping in to his performances then you bench him.

It was like Galloway when he stood in for Baines at left - back, done really well until he started looking tired and started making mistakes, that was the time to pull him.
