2017/18 Mason Holgate

He was fantastic today. So was Williams but I expected Williams to be. He intercepts well and is beginning to look a bit like how Stones used to for us.

Seemed to plateux the second half of last season, but is really kicking on now.

He is acually a better defender than Stones ever was, stones was is very good player on the ball that's what made him wanted by the big teams, but he wasn't particularly good at defending. Holgate and Keane would be nice to see in the near future.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how well he's done the past fortnight. He could be the answer to one of our major issues at centre half, and for a long time.

We were terrible at defending when Stones played for us, he also made plenty of mistakes. But what masked it was When Martinez was in charge we scored a lot more.

Stones may have started ok, but after a while We were terrible at defending with him in the team, he also made plenty of mistakes. But what masked it was When Martinez was in charge we scored a lot more. It was no surprise when stone acually left we didn't miss him one bit.

Looks like a lot of us (myself included) have forgotten that he is a centre half. Isn't setting the world alight but at this stage, he needn't to. Been ace since playing in a 2.

It was still a bad miss from Mane but Holgate played that situation brilliantly, covering the goal and the other RS just well enough to keep Mane in two minds then when Mane had gone too far to square it Holgate charged him which put Mane under pressure to pull the trigger quicker than he'd have wanted.
