I don't really go for net spend, Haller was no use to them so its not like they were losing anything from him going.

…..I’m not criticising @davek for his stance on not wanting a DoF, but from all we’ve heard Ancelotti was the one who wanted Allan. It does confirm to me that it’s not about having a DoF and it’s not about not having a DoF, it’s about having somebody who is very good at building a squad.

Our approach has been very disjointed for a while & I’m not sure our process works (where the manager or DoF can initiate and veto transfers).

For me Eggs if he rates Allan so highly he should do the honourable thing,make us a decent offer and take him to Madrid!!

….we all understandably complain about the lack of quality and balance in the squad. An absolute fortune has been spent assembling what we have and ultimately it’s down to the failure of a succession of DoF/Manager.

They are the most important appointments in the club because they are the enablers. They are such difficult appointments to get right, we’ve seen City, United & the Reds struggle before they ultimately got the right men in. I fear we’ll be mediocre under this managerial regime.

If you don't look for positives in you final preseason friendly, where should you look for them?

This season is going to be a struggle lads.
This is a poor group of players and the overhaul will not happen anytime soon as nobody wants our deadwood and we have a lot of it.

But the bleach looks so appetising when you look down and see that useless fat clown waving his arms about on the sideline.
