Is he ready to be regularly starting for a team that is going to be challenging for top 4 and possibly playing in Europe?

The same could be said of Godfrey last summer.

Aarons: 21 in Jan and played 115 league games in Premier league and the Championship.

Godfrey: 22 when we signed him had played 66 games in Premier league and the Championship.

Emerson (Betis/Barca) would have been my RB choice. Then of course i was amazed by Lamptey's breakthrough and attacking play.

But Aarons would be the 'safer' option as he has the Premier league, Championship and England U21 experience.

He's been playing with Godfrey and Davies so Brands/Ancelotti will have some insights to his character and also how he compares/complements them on the field.

If the fee is £35mil then perhaps we can lower it by giving them Kenny or loaning them one or two players (Gomes/Iwobi) ?

I think he's a no brainer at this point.

I think the most important box Aarons ticks is the HG box.

We currently have 10 HG players :

Pickford, Keane, Holgate, Godfrey, Iceberg, TomTom and DCL will be going nowhere.

With some question marks you would assume on Delph, King and Iwobi(wishful thinking).

So that leaves us with 7 or 8 players.

So for the League we are doing ok, but for the CL the rules are vastly different, the 1 major problem we will have going forward is the club trained players of which we currently have Tom Davies, but anyway, its a minor issue currently.

The same can be said of Godfrey now.

My answer is a shoulder shrug. I don't really think so but I'm also not so invested in scouting him that I know he isn't what we need. I just have concerns especially with the price tag being thrown around.

It was just a general query really it's just that we need to be signing players that are ready to be in the first 11 and then we can start padding out the squad with young prospects, which it seems this lad is and despite the way Godfrey has played he should also be in that 2nd/3rd choice squad role.

It is possible to do both. Not sure Aarons does either.

Aaron’s is more than a prospect. He would offer us a lot.

Heavy Goods ?

Delph, Iwobi you can have.

Gomes, whilst not consistent isn't a bad buy.
Gmblammo has been injured, he doesn't have a crystal ball
Kean we will sell for a profit
Lossl and Sidibe arent even at the club.

So hes dumped 2 players and signed 15, you didn't mention Bernie either, so 3 turkeys from 15 ain't bad.

I have often read that a 50% success rate with signings, in the football world is seen as a successs.
