Transfer Rumour Maxwell Cornet

Disagree. Don’t think it’s a matter of being thrown together, if he’s been identified as an addition we need (a left footed right winger we’ve needed for like, forever..) but we have to seek value when we have limited available funds.

Our mass spending on crap like Walcott, tosun, Siggurdsson. All was throwing players together.
Has he ever played on the right?

Cornet is a very average player. Won't improve us at all. Had a few cameos last season but consistently he was average. Feel free to convince yourselves he will be better but he's distinctly average.
He scored 9 goals in 26 league games last year with only one game being a brace? So that’s scoring in 8 games of 26 in one of the most defensive and worst sides in the league, how many “cameos” does a player need to have to be regarded as decent if that’s the case??

If we’d bought him from Lyon people would be excited. He’s still the same player that was bagging against City in the CL not that long ago. Just needs a bit more freedom than he got at Burnley.
He’s also played as many times on the left as he has on the right, whilst playing as a left back as much as a centre forward.

This squad is dying for this kind of versatility, classic case of Everton fans though, just because he’s from Burnley he must be crap and without a hint of irony we’ll all go on about how class Richarlison when Spurs weren’t sure on him when they were signing him even though the last year gap between us and Burnley was about 10 times closer than that of the gap between us and Spurs.

Guaranteed if he went to the like of Leicester or Southampton you have the usual lot moaning on here that “we should’ve been in for him our scouts are crap”. It’s gonna be the same song and dance for almost any signing we go for this summer, no one’s gonna be good enough because despite the fact we’re one of the worst teams in the league and almost got relegated we should be signing Champions League players, all on the cheap too.

Wouldn’t argue that he is a decent player.
But that’s about it , nothing exceptional, just decent.
In fact he’s the type of player we’ve seen passing through Goodison without leaving a discernible mark of achievement for way too many years now.
Decent.

Would be a good signing based on his versatility and winger stats. He is a 1 goal in 3 winger from the right and left.

Seems worth it.

Ill believe this when I see it. Would love him. But its Burnely - didn't they want us investigated for the FFP fiasco? Surprised they haven't priced him at 100 million as its us!

Couldn’t agree more

Wages reported to be 150k pw, so they'd have to do a Lukaku like deal where they pay a percentage, world cup year - chance for him to play under the manager he had by far his best season under and way less amount of intensity of games thsn at Chelsea.

Ups our profile massively state side, possible US sleeve sponsor I've heard too... Could be how we'd pay for it tbh.

Similar deal really mate. Hes a game changer.

I ask you this. If he was any good why did he leave lyon in the prime of his career and only join a club like Burnley. Speaks volumes doesnt it?
