Transfer Rumour Maxwell Cornet

Again this is massively missing the point. Mahrez came from a minnow french team and was very young and unproven at European level. Cornet came from an elite French team and was very well tested and well known on a world stage.

After playing 200+ games and being an established player, no top clubs felt he had the attributes or ability to improve them. Someone like Arsenal would have happily taken him for £15 million if he was good. The reason Burnley got him is because he is about their level. A player who will perform once every 3 games and perform the odd cameo where he looks good but then do nothing for a couple of games. This guy was even benched for some Burnley games at the end of last season. You really think if hes that good then that would happen?
He wasn't benched at the end of the season because of his performance...the manager was managing the games he played as he was carrying an injury and only play him in games that were crucial for their survival.

So if we sign this lad and he starts, that likely means one of Gordon, Gray or Mykolenko are missing out. We have so many other glaring holes in our starting 11, I can't shake the feeling this shouldn't be a priority signing.

I think he improves us and offers us something we don't have. Can he also play on the right and cut inside?
IMO we'd be daft to buy him and not play him exclusively on the right considering how light we are there. He's a natural left-footer so it should be a no brainer really.

I've seen him several times and he is poor. No one wanted him here when his name was mentioned a month or 2 back, and people are only now shouting down anyone questioning it, because we are seriously linked.

That's my thinking but he seems to be a player who plays prominently on the left.
