I just had a word with Alan Myers a few minutes ago.

We were after mcneil the season before last as we're many others. Nathan Collins has just gone for 20 million. Pope has gone to Newcastle. Wood who played half the season went to Newcastle. There were far better players than Cornet in that team.

I'm not even going to bother with this thread anymore anyway. You'll always get these people who see a player have one or two games and think they are good players. Or a player who is fast and looks effective but doesn't do it consistently. Players like deulofeu, traore. They all end up at average clubs or the second division. Cornet is in that bracket. A few good games where he looks good, id dare say I'd put demarai gray in this category too. We don't need another demarai gray
Stop chatting wham then and you won't get called out.

Cornet and Pope were their best players last season.

Cornet is twenty five now, when he signed for Burnley he was 24.

Hardly a player at his peak . He has had a good season in a dreadful team and if we sign him he at least deserves a chance.

Burnley were kept in the race for survival last season by a couple of players in particular and it looks as if we may be getting two of their best.

There is no reason why they cannot improve again with better players around them.
Don't disagree lwith the thrust of your post, but the Burnley guys would be moving from a dreadful team to a poor one here, so not exactly a revolution in the quality of surrounding players, really.

Cornet was better than all of them to be honest. Was probably Burnleys best player. Wood and Pope are woeful.

Mate, on twitter Burnley fans are saying they would drive Cornet to Everton themselves. They clearly don't agree with you
Absolute nonsense. Burnley fans don’t have twitter ffs. Also it’s hardly a long drive is it? Sometimes it’s nice to have a little drive about with the windows down with one of your heroes in the passenger seat, that’s what they really mean.

Well I've seen lots of Burnley fans say the opposite mate.

And I've watched them play too. Cornet is miles better than Pope and Wood and about 6 years younger.

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany says he wants to give forward Maxwel Cornet a chance to sort out his future after not playing him against Shrewsbury in a pre-season match.

Cornet was not in the squad for Friday's friendly ahead of a possible move to Everton.
The clubs are in talks over a transfer and Cornet is understood to have a release clause of £17.5m.
Reports we are trying to spread it over 10 years.

Can you imagine the reaction on here if we’d paid 20 mill for Chris Wood and 20 mill for Nathan Collins, plus even more for McNeil. Then someone like Villa or Brighton got Cornet for 17 mill. The collective meltdown on here would be amazing.

The negativity and moaning this summer is something else. Still can’t believe we’re paying Lingard 200k a week.:….oh no we’re not.
