Tbh mate I hadn't heard much either but we need goals desperately and he seems to score a few ...here's hoping he continues that here.Wasn't excited about him till seen this video. Must admistvI barely could watch Everton last year let alone pay attention to any other teams or games.
Reminds me a bit of Antonio for WHU.
Good luck to him if he signs.
Just out of interest, who in our squad would you consider as better than Cornet?I've seen him several times and he is poor. No one wanted him here when his name was mentioned a month or 2 back, and people are only now shouting down anyone questioning it, because we are seriously linked.
Cornet is twenty five now, when he signed for Burnley he was 24.Again this is massively missing the point. Mahrez came from a minnow french team and was very young and unproven at European level. Cornet came from an elite French team and was very well tested and well known on a world stage.
After playing 200+ games and being an established player, no top clubs felt he had the attributes or ability to improve them. Someone like Arsenal would have happily taken him for £15 million if he was good. The reason Burnley got him is because he is about their level. A player who will perform once every 3 games and perform the odd cameo where he looks good but then do nothing for a couple of games. This guy was even benched for some Burnley games at the end of last season. You really think if hes that good then that would happen?
Not sure that is exactly the question that should be asked, as the current squad barely avoided relegation last season.Just out of interest, who in our squad would you consider as better than Cornet?
Strikes a ball well tbf.
Thing is though is that he's clearly a wide forward rather than an out-and-out winger, so he needs to be cutting inside. The wing play should be coming from our fullbacks ideally, especially in a 3-5-2 if that's what we're gonna be doing. That's my thinking but he seems to be a player who plays prominently on the left.
Can take a corner. I’m in.
Can take a corner. I’m in.
This has been happening for years and years. Hinchcliffe was the last player to consistently get his corners right. So frustratingWe don't like beating the first man.
We were after mcneil the season before last as we're many others. Nathan Collins has just gone for 20 million. Pope has gone to Newcastle. Wood who played half the season went to Newcastle. There were far better players than Cornet in that team.Cornet is twenty five now, when he signed for Burnley he was 24.
Hardly a player at his peak . He has had a good season in a dreadful team and if we sign him he at least deserves a chance.
Burnley were kept in the race for survival last season by a couple of players in particular and it looks as if we may be getting two of their best.
There is no reason why they cannot improve again with better players around them.
