Transfer Rumour M'baye Niang

The fact we are after this guy early, makes me feel better about it. If it was one of those that we rushed through on deadline day, then there'd be a feeling that we were just panic buying. But the fact we are doing this one early in the window makes me think we really want him.

And if Walsh and Koeman want him, then that's good enough for me.

Hold on you're not the real Lord Buckethead @MorgsGoat what is going on here?!

I think you are right in this (although I think Lennon does have the work rate and strength as he has proved for us many times). I don't think it's necessarily Koemans preference as much as his understanding of the requirements of the PL. Football is played at a far higher tempo and the tackling is far more robust than elsewhere. Niang is potentially better suited to the rigours of our league than Deulofeu was.

But the problem with this player in particular is that he made zero impact on loan last year in the premiership, to a point that im sure people didn't even think he was at Watford

While this is essentially true , he did show flashes of brilliance. He was only there from January wasn't he? Difficult to fully settle in that time, plus Watford were in some upheaval as well. He is clearly a talented player who has yet to begin to fulfil his potential. If Koeman and Walsh feel he can bring something to us, I'm content to support the lad. I also think if they are right we could have a real talent on our hands.

Exclusive: Everton haven't reached personal terms with €18m Milan star

M’Baye Niang still has to agree to personal terms with Everton, even though Milan and the Toffees are close to finalizing his deal in the coming hours.

We can exclusively reveal that M’Baye Niang has yet to travel to Liverpool for his medical, because the Goodison Park side has yet to make him an offer he is board with.

Having spent six months on loan at Vicarage Road last season, the French sensation is set to move to Everton for a sum between €15 million (what the Toffees want to pay) and €18m, which is what Milan want, and what Watford agreed to pay as part of the 22-year-old’s loan-to-buy deal.

Milan and Everton are nearing an understanding - sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli and colleague Steve Walsh meeting in Milan recently alongside mediator Vincenzo Morabito.

Niang scored two Premier League goals and added two assists in 15 EPL fixtures with the Toffees.

It's pretty 50/50 on who's right on this one. The Echo and Calcio Mercato are both pretty awful.

Local rags reported at the end of the season that one of the reasons Watford didn't take up the option to buy is because Niang had made it clear he didn't want to leave Italy. That may be true and explain why no personal terms have been agreed. If he's not jumping at the chance to join (a chance his performances haven't really justified) then bin him off and move on to the next target.

Gabbiadini for Saints didn't take long.
