Transfer Rumour M'baye Niang

I understand people having opinions, I find it more difficult to understand that they cannot allow for their opinions being wrong.

My main memory of Niang is him choosing to join Milan instead of us and since then he has fallen off my radar.

Although it does seem an unusual signing and quite a hefty price it does show that either Walsh or Koeman or both think this lad has a lot to offer.
I took no notice of him at Watford, but loan deals can go well or badly and doesn't always reflect accurately on a player(Galloway at WBA).

For me, if it happens, it will be one of the more interesting signings.

Could be wrong but I thought we had Niang on trial and the option of Mirallas, both for around £6million, and we chose the latter?

Not sure he exactly chose Milan over us as much as went to Milan because they were the ones that wanted him.

We thought we had the deal done, but he chose the bright lights of Milan over Matthew St.

In my opinion neither Del or Lennon are balanced players, they are front loaded with talent in certain areas, but accommodation comes with a sacrifice for the team to do that you need to be contributing within their realms of strength to be worthwhile which they haven't im talking goals and assists here. Entertaining and easy on the eye certainly but bottom line no consistent end product.

You have to be talented, consistent but also funtional in the modern game to succeed in my opinion. Unless your contribution of talent dictates otherwise, like a Ronaldo or Messi.

Niang i think is formative enough in developmet to have a pathway to balance.

Seems more like due to certain attributes (mainly size and strength) outweighs other attributes.

Niang did zip at Watford, not wanted by AC, is troubling. But hes willing to pay a fee and work with him due to certain attributes rather than Del, who has actually done well where's he's been but other factors contribute against him.

That's not defending Del. That's just pointing out the type of player and side Ron seems to want.

Anyone who says he's 'shyte' or worse than del clearly knows nothing about football and I'd like the mods to ban anyone expressing either opinion.

He's a very good player with pace to burn. I think he could be our best signing of the summer.

I think you are right in this (although I think Lennon does have the work rate and strength as he has proved for us many times). I don't think it's necessarily Koemans preference as much as his understanding of the requirements of the PL. Football is played at a far higher tempo and the tackling is far more robust than elsewhere. Niang is potentially better suited to the rigours of our league than Deulofeu was.

The fact we are after this guy early, makes me feel better about it. If it was one of those that we rushed through on deadline day, then there'd be a feeling that we were just panic buying. But the fact we are doing this one early in the window makes me think we really want him.

And if Walsh and Koeman want him, then that's good enough for me.
