Been beginning to think we’ve been getting a slightly better deal on TV recently. After years of being underdogs or plucky Everton type nonsense regardless of how we played, just recently the pundits at least have been imho quite positive about our performances (when warranted). The lingering distain for Everton still pops up with the stuff about James like, but even so the commentary and post match analysis always did my head in whereas lately there does seem to be a bit more acknowledgement that we can play a bit. Maybe it’s just the start and the last couple of results, or maybe it’s having the leading scorer and new kid on the block for England, but for me at least I can tolerate most of what the pundits are saying...

Simple fact is pundits don’t watch Everton so no nothing about us or our players.. Good example was the last game.. clueless and idiotic.
We lack any real pundits in the media, only real one is Cahill. The rest P.Neville and Ossie are shocking.
We need to win something or finish in the top 4.

The worse punditry I have seen was when we hammered Utd 3-0 and we got ZERO CREDIT. It’s was Utd worse EVER performance(apparently)

Neville was absolutely clueless the other night and has never watched us since he left .
Neville said Richy never tracks back shockingly bad
 
The media bias for me is based on the brand. The tv rights are worth 5 billion and they weren't sold on 20 teams they were sold on 6. The yawn 6. If you ever tune into a foreign stream youll know this. The coverage is disgraceful when one of them are playing one of the 14 others.

Look at the supposed unbias build up to us v arsenal. The media all week have been trying to work out how they can get back on track.

I know this sounds like nonsense but its been said publicly. When fergie left the mancs and gollum took over they were in around 11th, the PL cheif openly said that it was bad for the PL brand for man u to be that low.

Its not a level playing field. Its geared towards the 6 that the foreign markets want to watch. The medias agenda is based off this.

The fact we are the RS city rivals just compounds this
 

Do we actually do or say anything about it though?

Is our Head of PR on the blower to Mirror demanding explanation?

Would Sky have a panel of pundits exclusively from their rivals for any other team? Would Utd ex players be given a City game, or Spurs players cover Arsenal? Why is blatant red card not even discussed?

I just get the impression we don’t like to make a fuss and get treated like West Brom, not one of the most successful clubs in this country’s history.

Everton twitter tagged them last night about DCL goals

 
A lot of fans say the media have a bias against us and to an extent its true but that’s what happens when you have no success, we haven’t won a trophy since 95, we finished 4th once and 5 a few times.
6 teams have never been relegated, 5 of them have been in the CL final, we never been in the group stages
The media is full of RS which doesn’t help.

What annoys me is when we are thrown in with the likes Newcastle and West Ham and then classed as smaller clubs then the likes of Leeds or Villa

As stupid as it is, I actually know how this happened. It’s to do with the layout of the premierleague.com “stats dashboard”. Kane is missing from the assists chart for the same reason

It’s shoddy journalism, but (for once) I don’t think it has anything to do with bias.
 
Honestly I feel the same. I watch all the games from Canada where Im lucky enough to get DAZN and every football game on Earth beamed right to me. The sad thing is that every Everton game seems to be commentated by that miserable ex-RS player Jim Beglin. He seems to be clever with his very slight passive aggressive commentating. Honestly I feel like punching a hole in the tv. Then I watch match of the day and its that total bellend Danny Murphy! Why is he on the TV?
 
Here in the US, NBC has the broadcast rights, so the pre-match and post-match comments are mostly unbiased. They've added Tim Howard as one of those commentators as well which helps.

The commentators during the match still have some bias, but not as bad as the UK-based channels.
