If he wanted to be seen as better than Maradona he would be going to a team where he could help them go from outsiders to become title winners.

As Maradona did with Napoli.

The bloke should grow up a bit. Why are modern footballers such utter tosspots?
???

One of the major reasons he went there has just been binned off after a few weeks. Surely that and the fact the club want to lighten the wage bill means it's probably a good option for both parties.

If Aguerro went back to Argentina and Barcelona made 20% of wage savings required who'd complain?

Joining a club so you can play with your buddy is a pretty infantile reason to join a club, and to throw your toys out of the pram when you can't play with your buddy is even more so. I said yesterday that things have changed in recent years away from a team and club ethos where players are united behind a greater good and now clubs are mere vehicles to pad out the stats of superstar players.

Another oil team ruining football.

Be laughable watching them bottle the Champions League as well and again watching Messi's forlorn face staring into the abyss with his 1000 yard stare, knowing he cannot do anything about it anymore.
But Barcelona paying Messi £1 million a week wasn’t ruining football? In fact, they’ve ruined their own club with that stupidity.

My Catalan friend wrote to me this:

I hope Messi doesn't go to England. He's technically too gifted to play in such a physically demanding competition. If he stays in Europe, I'd love to see him in France or Italy.

lol lol lol You can't be too gifted. I agree though a nice easy few league games to keep fresh for European games is his best option. If he'd wanted the PL, he needed to come a few years ago.

PSG are always undercooked when it comes to the nitty gritty big knockout ties in Europe, coincidentally when they got to the final it was after every team was undercooked from covid break and it was lottery one game knockout ties behind closed doors, the stars were alligned for them that season and they still bottled the final.

Messi ain't winning another CL and matching Ronaldo's five CL's.
