Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I agree, and unlike me, my daughter loves the winter and the coldness.

What made this time more special was that because of the snow storm nobody was able to visit us so the first few days we spent them just with her, without family interruptions so we were able to bond a lot which was great. As you can see she was a little tiny creature. Those were the days.

Here in Asheville it used to snow a lot more but in the past decade I can notice the effects of climate change as now days we even get warm days in December and hardly any snow. Last year we got some but prior to that it had been a couple of years since we gotten any. So when snows here it literally freezes everything, schools close, stores close and even some roads are no drivable. We are a mess.
She is so cute!

You are right though, our weather is changing. While we get nothing much for most of the year the highest temperature ever in Ireland was recorded this summer.

3 years before I was literally snowed in at home and I always remember the elderly locals telling me they had never seen weather like that.

Thanks @Armaghtoffee

Indeed, the weather patterns are changing everywhere. And while at the moment humans are coping with it, the reality is that many species are having a hard time with the changes. A few years ago we had a December that was so warm that some trees were starting to flower. This year feels colder than previously years so maybe it will be more of a normal winter ??

Yeah man doesn’t have the best track record for looking after other species.

@Barnfred 55 keep your eyes open for the big sharks off Cornwall with the rising sea temperatures. If Rick Stein can net one of them bad boys he could feed Padstow for a week.

Good evening Messy. How's you're day been? Hope it's been a good one.

Good evening to everybody else as well. Today I have mostly been reading. All work related, hundreds of pages of social services report. As a result I have also been eating. Non stop, all sh*te as well. It's a toss up between husband's birthday cake or a Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodle as to which of those was the healthiest part of my diet. I need to get a grip. Monday, definitely Monday.....

Don't know if I told you that I had tickets to see Hartlepool v Everton U21s on 9 November. Imagine my surprise when my son messaged me last Tuesday and said "That match we are going to next week is on tonight" Checked email, confirmation said November 9th and I'm sure when I booked the tickets the website said 9th. Opened e ticket and date said 2nd November. WTF? Emailled Hartlepool who admitted that yes, the match was advertised as November 9th but it was an EFL scheduling error. I'm getting my money back (probably give it to Everton in the Community) but at least I know I'm not losing the plot! Bit disappointed though - was looking forward to seeing the mighty blues without a 300 mile round trip attached. Just hope nobody shows up on 9th!
As a result of all your reading you have been eating and so have I due to the coldness lol Munching on food all day seems to keep me warm.

Sorry to hear you won’t be able to make it to the U21s game but how in the heck does a club makes such mistake advertising a game. Probably ended up being super low attendance because of it. What a shame!

They did say that they had put stuff out on social media and in the local paper but why would an Everton fan look at Hartlepool'a social media?

As it was the U21s lost anyway!

I've had a visit from my sister today which I enjoyed and now I'm just chilling. I hope we can catch Spurs cold on Sunday. Does anyone know who is expected back and who is definitely out?
How nice that your sister has been visiting often. Is she older or younger than you?

I hope so too, maybe since they are going through the adaptation of a new manager they will be more vulnerable on Sunday. I guess we will have to wait tomorrow for the report on who is making it back. Mina wasn’t called by Colombia so I’m not sure if that means he is not fully fit to play on Sunday, but I sure hope he is because we could use him against the Spurs.

I have 2 sisters 1 older and 1 younger. This was the younger one. She made me a nice cup of tea and she also helped me catch up with the dishes being washed.

Without Mina I think we need to go 3 at the back as long as Digne and Coleman are fit. I hate a 3 but at the minute you wouldn't trust any 2 of the other 3 together. Then I would pay Allan and Delph in the midfield and Grey and Townsend either side of Richarlison.

So you are also the middle child. I am too, I've an older brother and a younger one from my parents marriage and a half younger sister from my dad's second marriage.

Washing dishes is always great help.

I agree with your lineup. If there was something bright about last week's defeat was the way Delph played. Let's hope he has another great game this weekend and one from the very beginning.

I hope that Gbamin gets another chance buy he clearly wasn't ready to be thrown in like that. Also it was on a 2 and not a 3 which made it even harder. Delph is decent but you know he will not last many games. We will probably need to bring Davies on for him at about 65 minutes to make sure he doesn't over do it.

I have to admit I would have traded them both in for a big brother when I was a child. However as happens I couldn't and I'm glad I couldn't as its worked out better this way!

I hope so too, Gbamin didn't perform well last weekend but it had been so long since he had started that he needs more time to adjust and improve. But I agree that we need to be careful with Delph because he can get injured easily.

I would have traded both of my brothers for a sister but growing up with them make me tougher so it ended up working well for me ?
