Brilliant to hear from you champ. We're all rooting for you and missing you. Thanks for the update mate you get your strength back and we'll all be here waiting for you. ?????It's been really difficult the last few days but I knew I needed to come on just to let you know I'm still here.
Thats Beautiful mate, my wife cries too when shes reminded she married me. Somtimes for days on end.Certain songs do trigger our emotions, don't they mate. I put together a playlist for my missus on Spotify recently, mainly because she's a bit of a technophobe and would never have got round to it herself, but also because I know what she likes and thought she'd appreciate it.
She tends to like a lot of retro stuff from as far back as the 60s, even 50s, or retro sounding stuff like Adele and Amy Winehouse. One of the songs on her playlist was Unchained Melody from the Righteous Brothers, which was the song we danced to on our wedding day. I walked into the living room one day as she was listening to music on her earphones and she had tears in her eyes. I guessed which song she was listening to. "Unchained Melody?" I asked and she nodded.
I've even listened to songs and been moved to tears just by how bloody brilliant they are. Very rarely I hasten to add, in case anyone thinks I burst into tears at every decent song.
After all those years with Cal, there'll be so many songs that remind you of her because you had so many happy years together. Maybe sometimes they'll make you smile and sometimes they'll make you cry. Those tears could be construed as sadness or they could be fond remembrance or any number of emotions, or just because it's a bloody good song.
I have a couple of songs on one of my playlists that remind me of my late sister, who died at 38. As soon as I hear them I think of her and smile, even though she got on my tits sometimes.
Don't feel that you're taking up too much of the thread. This is exactly what Messy wanted this thread to be used for.
That was a lot longer than I intended. We're here for you, Fred.
In all seriousness though that was beautiful, musics great its a soundtrack to our lives the good and the bad, happy and sad. Hearing a song can put us right back in time to certain occasions where you feel youre almost reliving it. My da was a big Everly bros fan and i can just stick them on and feel like im sitting with him again. Certain songs can just bring you to pieces though youve to lock the door and make sure no ones home before you could listen to them. ?Certain songs do trigger our emotions, don't they mate. The first game after Wimbledon, that was the first game my second son was around for after I sneaked in Graeme Stewart as his middle names. I know , I had to change the spelling.Just a thought. Had we went down then we were gone. Like Sheffield Wed gone.Staying up in 1984, last game of the season against Wimbledon.
Nothing will ever come close to that game and the night in town afterwards.
The city centre was blue.
