Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Just a thought. Maybe give Messy a boost. All you Everton fans, tell us your best Everton moments. Paul Rideout isn't allowed by the way. Haha
Good Morning everyone, great to have Messy back with us yesterday
Good one Reedy, I was fortunate to be at Rotterdam for the CWC final but that wasn't the biggest thrill, that was visiting Goodison for the first time when I was about 7 or 8 in 67/8 my dad took me against Leeds who he supports, we lost 1-0 but the thrill of being at Goodison for the first time.e will always stay with me.
I am taking my eldest Grandson to Everton v Villa in January if I can get tickets, I sincerely hope it will be as big a thrill for him as it was for me.

Brilliant .

Great Post mate. I'll reply properly to it another day. Just going to sort my tea out now and settle down to watch the England game. Great post though.

I love this.

Thats Beautiful mate, my wife cries too when shes reminded she married me. Somtimes for days on end.

Just wanted to thank you all for your comments. Much appreciated.

I'm glad my post resonated with you. I was welling up a little bit as I was typing it due to all the memories flooding back.

Music, eh? Nothing else quite stirs the emotions like it. Love it!

Messy, good to see you back. Hope things continue to improve. I've been a bit under the weather this last few weeks. Am going for a Covid test today. You look after yourself, you hear!

Me and my brother went to Anfield for a derby game (1940's). It was packed. Being two young lads, we couldn't see much even though we moved several times. Finally, with 10 minutes to go and the score 0 - 0 we decided to bail out. We were walking across Stanley Park when all these roars started. There were 4 mighty roars, obviously goals. All the way home we were discussing what had happened. We finally settled on 2 - 2.
We eagerly awaited 'Sports report' to get the result. Liverpool 4 Everton 0. You can't win them all!

It certainly does. The phrase "soundtrack of your life" is so true. There are certain songs that automatically remind me of people, places, events. Most good, some sad.
Also "Unchained Melody" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Great choice. My husband and I met and married in 1991 so unsurprisingly Bryan Adams Everything I Do is 'our' song!

Obviously too young then to be tainted by the pessimism that follows all Evertonians! I bet if you did it now you would automatically assume a 4-0 defeat!

Happy Saturday @messymascot and all fellow Blues.

Karl, I just noticed that you were checking out the Everton Youth Teams Thread (sorry for stalking your moves) and that truly was comforting as I haven’t see you checking out any other threads the past few days. I hope this means you are feeling a bit better today ??

I appreciate @Reedy1979 suggestion about posting our most memorable Everton moments. It has been very nice reading everyone’s stories and hopefully you get to tell us about yours too.

Sending a big hug your way. Xx
