Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Since I’m a newbie when it comes to following the Blues then I would have to say my best Everton moment was this summer at the Florida Cup where I got to watch us winning our first tournament in ages lol What made it more memorable was that we beat a Colombian team and that I actually got to see James playing for Everton. What was definitely no memorable about this moment was our lack of enthusiasm receiving the trophy  But the players were pardoned given their lack of experience winning awards.

Sassy. I'm jealous.

Evening hope you are OK @Barnfred 55. I'm very poorly but I'm plodding on the best I can. We are all here for each other and I hope you can feel the love of this forum. I'm still defiant and I hope I can beat the odds.
Good to hear from you Messy, keep fighting and we will keep this thread ticking over until your well enough to join us again

How’s the weekend away Harry?
All good mate thanks so much for asking , genuinely I’m not sure I’ll be posting but for this but messy and our little firm tempt you back right ?

Morning @messymascot , yesterday’s little post was inspired mate . Thanks so much and I hope knowing we’re all here helps .

Morning everyone else .
Just a thought. Maybe give Messy a boost. All you Everton fans, tell us your best Everton moments. Paul Rideout isn't allowed by the way. Haha
This is where I show my age but I don’t Mind .
So favourite moment , I’m not sure I can do it it feels like it had to be a list !

The ones that will always take some beating are When we won the cup in 84 , when psycho pat won the league at Carrow road and I’ll book end it with the 95 cup win . How can I choose between them ? Bayern Munich , sharpie even super kev at anfield and Rotterdam all shouldn’t be missed out and for family reasons when Duncan scored against United was extra special and who can forget winning the league at goodison against QPR . Staying up against Wimbledon was an incredible feeling , a last second reprieve. I’m not sure I can ever verbalise The ones that will always take some beating are When we won the cup in 84 , when psycho pat won the league at Carrow road and I’ll book end it with the 95 cup win . I’m not sure I can ever verbalise how that felt , after those hidings away to Blackburn , Leeds and somewhere in London . The journeys back I thought we were done .

Just writing them I feel privileged and I know just how lucky I am . I suppose If I can’t do a list my favourite memory will probably always be 84 cup final as it was the start of something great , something special but I swear I’m not sure I’d swap a moment of those days for a large lump Of cash and that’s not hyperbole I’m completely serious . how that felt , after those hidings away to Blackburn , Leeds and somewhere in London . On The journeys back home I really thought we were done .

I think when we won the league in 1970 ,if I remember we were 10 points behind Leeds at Christmas and won by 10 points and that was 2 points for a win time Any game with Bally was special for me .
I too feel priveliged to have seen a lot of trophies come our way .
So many choose the bayern or Rapid vienna games and I do have them up there along with any win over those who cannot be named .

Hmmm tough one. My first visit to Goodison. FA Cup match v Fulham in 1975. We lost unexpectedly. Fulham got beat in the Final by West Ham.
The 1984 FA Cup final. Just the best day ever.
Then a few years ago, just after I took redundancy from my previous job my finances and Everton's participation in Europe collided favourably so my son and I went to European away match. A long held ambition of mine. We went to Bern to watch Everton v Young Boys. We won, Lukaku was amazing. The outstanding memory was being in Burger King post match and all you could hear were Scouse accents! Brilliant.

I hope you can take comfort knowing that Messy will have probably fallen asleep reading that mate?

Enjoy the rest of your break. Hope it's sunny there.

I'm struggling but I think the first time I watched Everton live was away to Bolton in the late 70s, possibly 1980.
Boxing day and the game was abandoned at half time due to heavy snow.
It was 1-1, scorers were two great players, Frank Worthington and Bob Latchford.

I had my Everton hat and scarf on, but my step dad had us in with the home fans and we walked round to the railings dividing the Everton supporters as so I could stand close with them.

Got pelted with snowballs from Everton fans laughing their socks off!
