Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning friends. As this is our safe space can I ask when is homicide justifiable? As you know I take Mr F to work every day at around 6.30 am. I'm not at my best at that time of the morning and would prefer the journey to be undertaken in total silence. However Mr F chats away and tells me about what he's going to do in work. I belive today is emptying dog poo bins in Barnard Castle and attending to a fly tip. I don't actually speak, a few well- placed uh-huhs and mmms ( think 14 year old boy responses) keeps him happy.

Today however he mostly talked about Newcastle United. Now in the 30 odd years I have known Mr F he has been to St James Park twice. Once last year when, at my instigation, we went to the Everton match. The previous time, Kevin Sheedy was playing for them! Suddenly he's super fan. Never stopped this morning. Just look at where we were last season. All you need is a good run of results and so on and so forth. I got a potted history of the local lad who scored last night and by the time we arrived at work I was wondering if I could perhaps beat him to death with the plastic, half empty de-icer bottle.
Have a lovely day?
As the resident retired brief , I'd advise against it Anj or at the very least telling the whole world what you intend to do before you do it. That might match the definition of premeditated.

I love this.
My 'other' teams are
West Indies cricket team: unashamed glory supporting from the 70s/80s. Now utter dross
Serie A; Udinese. Only because when my son was small and got his first PSwhatever, he excitedly told me he was playing football as a team from Italy called Undies. I have kept an eye on Undies ever since. Their last trophy was the Coppa Italia in 1978 and that's about it
NFL: the Detroit Lions. Aged 15 I went to visit my auntie (Dad's sister) who lived in Michigan and they took me to an NFL game. Lions against the Bills. The Lions lost. They appear to be perennially dreadful. Although I think they nearly made the playoffs this year.

Maybe Evertonians have a streak in them that makes us want to stick up for the underdog. Where's the fun in winning all the time?
Other teams - good subject -

Table Tennis
Of course my true love and it has to be my club , Princes St TTC.

Football
Plymouth Argyle - well I am from there and went to every home game between 1969 and 1980. Fortunately ( to balance off the crapness of Everton ) they are having a great season and believe it or not actually bought 4 players with real money in the transfer window.
Sparta Rotterdam. My best mates from Rotterdam and his team are Sparta. Been to about 20 games , home and away. Not been this season and this is their best season for years. He's asked me to stay away. Like we despise the RS they hate Feyenoord or The Farmers as they call him. Crazy but true most of the Sparta chants are in English......my favourite is "Sparta is the club for Rotterdam" God bless them.

Cricket
Lancs CC and like Anj the Windies

On other teams , Ive actually done a role reversal.

Growing up as a young kid in Plymouth ( miles from culture and decent football ) Everton were my "other team" and I vividly remember having photos of my idol Alan Ball and Everton on my bedroom wall. Any other space was taken up with pop posters and the Beatles of course. Gradually I became obsessed with anything Scouse and even had Gerry and the Pacemakers ( this is cathartic, I am truly sorry I didn't know at the time ) and Freddie and the Dreamers posters ( actually it was only recently that I discovered that they were from Manchester not Liverpool , but hey ho).

So, you can imagine the serendipity when in 1982 I met Mrs J in Corfu and discovered that she was from Huyton ( which was obvious when she opened her gob)

Some things are meant to be.

Also obvious that she does not post on here..... ;)

I know there is a few of us older folk that post in here, is anyone up to date on the UK pension rules
I'm was on a Brits x pats page, and I did read I can buy back my pension for £159 each year for level 2

I only have 15 years at the moment, it's sounds like a no brainer to top up my lost years, if that's all it is
to buy it back,
TIA

It's been a funny old day. Thought I saw a ghost this morning after dropping Mr F off. A white shape, that appeared to be glowing, moving along the pavement. As I got closer I realised it was a greyhound wearing a reflective onesie that went down to its paws and had a hood. The owner, clad head to toe in black, was not immediately visible at the other end of the lead.
Then as I got into my car on the way to the gym I skidded on some mud and did a lovely face plant into a muddy puddle. Had to go back in and get changed!

yes ive heard about that if you haven't made sufficient contributions

She has no interest in football despite her dad being on Evertons books ( sadly didn't get to play a first team match).
Clearly this scarred him because he used to take great pride in telling me that he went to watch Everton 1 weekend and the following went to watch the RS - bizarre!
It's probably why Mrs J can't understand my hatred of the RS.
