Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning guys. Ignore my post from yesterday about wishing us luck this weekend. I've just seen it's FA Cup fixtures so no game for us. Just shows how much I'm avoiding footie at the moment.

Just about to do my betting and Super 6. I stopped the rot on the horses last week and ended up slightly up on the day. Think I'll still just do my money back bet for now and see how that goes.

On a different note, I tried on some of my old clothes yesterday to see if they still fit me. Most are loose where they used to be tight, but fortunately I don't need to fork out extensively on a new wardrobe just yet. I tried on an old pair of shorts though. They're a bit knackered tbf and I used to wear them when I was helping Cal with her NT job. Last time I wore them they were, shall we say, a bit snug. Yesterday I tried them on, zipped and buttoned but no belt. Just stood there and within 2 seconds they were literally around my ankles. Bin. lol

Actually, I was quite chuffed with myself and I think I deserve a self indulgent day. So it's posh sausage butties for lunch and my favourite spicy chicken fried rice for tea. Hope you all have a great weekend folks.
Good stuff freddo, as someone who has lost 5-6 stone, I know how good it feels when those clothes suddenly don't stretch and become loose. I have still got a wardrobe full of baggy stuff, still in the process of changing my wardrobe. Thankfully I had saved some of my favourite t's from when I was skinny before i put the weight on during my 30s, not so lucky with pants though ?

Did anyone get the £66 put back into their account for energy bills, utilita have me paying that much, they refunded the £66, I have ben watching what I use on the heating as well, looks like I have some room to manoeuvre so get that heating on lol So I ask myself why they're making me pay so much.

I argued with them about this £66 as they didn't really factor it in, they said when april comes I won't have it and I said I also won't be using the heating either will I? to no avail.

Cheers T.

After 3 decades of gradually putting the weight on it is nice to reverse that trend and, physically, I do feel the better for it. I do also sense that this isn't a temporary thing and that I will manage to keep the weight down and, hopefully, lose a few more pounds first. The one benefit of my change in circumstances is that I am now in 100% control of my lifestyle and what I eat and drink.

I am for my first away day of the season tomorrow in Castleblayney. I say away day but it is 14 mins drive from house just over the border in Monaghan.

We go in as favourites but in a Derby this has never counted for anything. Can’t wait for the day out itself never mind the nerve shredding match ?

For context, Castleblayney has a population of 3500 and in it’s day it was known for having a pub every 3 doors ?
Do you think that Monaghan will benefit from the 'new manager bounce'? I was up in Omagh last Saturday and thought of you when I saw the signpost for Armagh. Good luck with the match and enjoy the trip to Castleblaney.

Just seen that Flybe has gone into administration again, which is bad news for Newquay Airport, as the company was based there after starting up again last summer. It's a real shame as they provided a much needed service for the regional airports and none/low profit making routes. They were planning on reintroducing flights up to JLA from the summer which would have been great for me.

I'm quite lucky really. We had been planning another trip up to Musselburgh races at the beginning of next month, but decided against it due to the rail strikes that were planned for around that time. As it happens, my flights up to Manchester would have been cancelled. Fortunately, Loganair are recommencing their flights from Newquay to Manchester from mid February, and given that Flybe will no longer exist they will hopefully keep a limited service going throughout the winter months too.

Monaghan is a strange panel in that key players are all 33+ and then the young players are all early 20s with no players in between. They are transitioning whereas we are arguably peaking. I see us winning but only by a point or 2.

Unlucky about being in Omagh ?

We’re with Octopus and they suspended our payments as the £66 pounds covered our direct debit.

I've been getting it from Scottish Power for about 3 months.

Good evening friends. Back to normal today. Did a shop this morning - Lidl and Home Bargains. Also discovered that I have lost 3lbs while I've been away. I've eaten pizza, pasta and ice cream and also drank beer. However no snacking and loafs of walking. We averaged about 7 - 8 miles a day. So it just shows that walking really is good for you.
Waiting for Dyche to be officially announced. I'm actually fine with his appointment.
Have a lovely night all x
