Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for people striving to be their best but they must understand that people have lives outside of work. It is a means to an end but for some they just can’t see that.

Many years ago in a student job, a seasoned colleague remarked to me about a new manager, ‘there is promise here, we can mold him into what we want him to be’.

Experience right there 😀
I completely agree with this. I have no issue with being young and wanting to get on. However it's how you go about doing that. One of my team mates criticised something that came out from senior management and new manager became very defensive. Old manager would have just let them have their say and carry on. It's all about people skills.

Good morning folks. Did the gym and shopping last night. I 'offered' to come back home so Mr F could come shopping with me. He declined my kindness because he was watching the racing. Divorce imminent 🤣.
Setting off for Liverpool in about an hour. Looking forward to hearing my Dad's opinion on Everton. I usually learn a few new words from the retired sailor when the subject comes up. Then he sighs and says " Nobody is as good as Alex Young'.
For those of you who know, tonight I shall either be in The Greenhills or The Storrsdale. My brother suggested going for a drink with his current lady friend. Those are his two favourite places. Speaking of lady friends he has a terrible record with women. He can be a pain in the butt and hard to live with but the last two have been fully fledged psychopaths. This one however seems different. Nice person, good job. They have known each other since they were teenagers and each gone their separate ways and got together about a year ago. I have everything crossed!
Have a good day, catch up later - hopefully with three points in the bag!

Not sure if that's Duc H. Can you spot him on here. lol
View attachment 152034Had a great night reminiscing the old days last night. Everybody was passing around old photos they had on their phone. Somebody brought out a photo of some Speke lads we all knew taken with Duncan McKenzie in Rotterdam 1985. I didn't realise what it was at first but when it sunk in I knew that I was with them. That's me I exclaimed. Second left on the top. No way haha. I was that pissed I don't even remember it being taken.

That is really a very very special photo to me. Always said that day was my second best day out ever after my wedding day. And Dunc was my hero.

Can't help feeling Cal pulled a blinder there. I didn't even know that picture existed. And it looks like I'm wearing an Everton hat. I've never owned an Everton hat in my life ?

Not for me Pete. Perhaps you might get away with a zingy New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc but just about everything I've tried is overpowered by the spiciness of the curry.
I only ever have white wine with fish. I've been having fish for tea on a Friday and I have a New Zealand SB which will last me 2 meals. I also find that the white wine seems to combine well with the G&T without giving me a hangover. ;) In moderation of course.

Mercifully not too bad thanks Fred which is a bit of a surprise lol

I'm able to function today so the world is my oyster. I was expecting to mostly be on the sofa so it's a great feeling.

I had the odd pint of water between each drink which I think has saved me.
God you must have been pissing all night. Surprised you got any sleep mate. lol

Morning guys. Just nipped up to the shop for something I don't actually need (long story) and it's bloody freezing out there. A real chill in the air from the north easterlies and I foolishly only had a T shirt and light hoodie on.

Anyway just done my fantasy football and ITV 7. The money back bet is only returning stake on 2nd place and there's 7 horses in the race. That's not great and if it becomes the norm I think I'll just be doing my normal £1 bets on it in future.

Posh sausage butties for lunch followed by a day of horse racing. Hopefully I can build up a better kitty for Cheltenham.

Have a great weekend guys. Hopefully our beloved Blues don't spoil it for us later on.;)
