Had the pleasure of meeting John O’Shea today and having a chat. An absolute gentleman.

@jazzy I'm doing well, thanks for asking! I haven't started the job yet, but I have been clothes and shoe shopping! I have work outfits from before, but this is good excuse to buy more! lol Am I right?? @Gwladysover @anjelikaferrett @Val PMorning everyone,
Big shop for mum and us this morning. It's strange , I always used to do the shop on a Thursday or Friday but during the pandemic I switched to Monday / Tuesday as it was much quieter and now it has become a habit.
Then off to the gym .
Mrs J looking after the rescue shop this afternoon and rain is forecast so an afternoon in front of the TV watching the Tour and Women's Ashes.
@Vegas Toffee Girl how are things? I know you've been following the thread but not posted for a while - busy with the new job?
Have a lovely day y'all.
OMG! How hot is that! Couldn't agree more about shopping It's one of the things I think about if I ever had to go back to the office permanently. I've hardly got any work clothes.@jazzy I'm doing well, thanks for asking! I haven't started the job yet, but I have been clothes and shoe shopping! I also received another job opportunity! It's weird, I have had none forever then 2 pop-up within a week! This one is my backup plan just in case.
It's really, really hot here!! We've been under an Extreme Heat Warning for a week, which ends tomorrow with a chance of rain. I was out at the stable yesterday in my shorts and flipflops spraying my horse down with cold water. It was 44C.
That's a wonderful song! There is no other music genre right now that can tell stories like country music. The only other genre that I can compare it to is the singer/songwriter artists from the 70's. For example, this one. Along with James Taylor, Carly Simon, etc.The storytelling aspect of country music has been mentioned in the thread in the past by @anjelikaferrett @Vegas Toffee Girl and me , this song has just been on in our kitchen and it’s a great example. One of the writers , Jessie Alexander took part in a writer’s round concert I went to and she explained the song was written after another writer heard an interview on the radio with a couple who’s son had been killed in Afghanistan. The father said he kept his son’s truck and goes out driving in it to feel close to him , I’m not expecting any “converts” but hopefully it’s a pleasant few minutes in your afternoons.
Great report, I’m going to put your name forward for the preview of each game on the Everton forum , better than that Chico fellaHi all, just back from the game - you’ll stand a better chance of live updates when I get my varifocals as without my reading glasses I can’t really see my phone to type during the game when I’ve got my distance glasses on . Well it is what it is, what can I say - we won. To be fair there are still a few players out who would be likely in or around our first team - DCL, Garner, Branthwaite, Onana. Ashley Young looked decent, Iwobi was ok, most of them looked a little knackered by the end. They brought a young lad on for Young - Metcalfe - I guess more for the experience - he looked a bit lightweight and got pushed off the ball easily but he looked v young. Maupay- I don’t know what to say really. He looks devoid of confidence and the crowd are on his back. Sorry but criticise in private but support your team in public in my opinion. When players are having a bad spell (and I know it’s longer than a spell) I feel we should support them even more by, but that’s just me.
The away shirt looked lovely. Salmon story incoming - when my mum and dad first met in the 1940s just after the war my mum told me that she knew my dad was serious about her cos when he took her to meet his mum and dad they’d opened a tin of salmon for tea - how cute is that .
I’m off to the Bolton game too on Tuesday night. Just off to make a paella- son and girlfriend coming for tea. Have a great Saturday night all COYBs
I'm going to record that. Thanks for the heads up.On the lookout for some telly resembling sommet half decent later, I chanced on Our Coast; An exploration of the Merseyside coast. BBC 4, 7.00pm.
