Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

The Focaccia de recco ( cheese butty ) ,I found it a little too salty and as we had just that for lunch ,a little lacking in the fill your stomach department. It was quite filling but it needed something more .The intention is to serve it with a lasagne for guests and for that it would be fine other than for the Turkish bread I make which is miles better .Take no notice of Gino Decampo and his fantastico is all I can say . Never a truer word spoken.

He’s stealing a living.

Just had a call from the GP regarding the removal of my cyst. She was really sorry but the request for funding had been turned down. I’ve already had a letter from the hospital to say I had been placed on the waiting list, however she says I will receive another to say my name has been removed! 🤪 I said it wasn’t her fault, just the way things are these days but she said it was frustrating because she wants the best for her patients and doesn’t believe that refusing me is in my best interests. Ah well suppose it’s going to have to be private, it needs to come off. I’m lucky I can afford it but there are so many needing procedures that haven’t got the means. Watching two youngest grandkids playing now and am wondering what the future holds for them with the world as it is, I’m not sorry that I am closer to the exit than the entrance so to speak. Sorry to be such a downer on what is a lovely evening, I’m just disappointed but I’ll get over it.
My Mum expressed that very sentiment at teatime tonight. Between the world at war, the planet on fire and people choosing between eating or paying bills, it’s brutal.

There has never been a more important time for community spirit, charity and a bucketload of compassion for each other.

Hello all. When I renewed my phone contract I got 6 months of Disney + free. I've just been watching the series of The Full Monty which is one of my favourite films. Same cast 25 years on. I'm two episodes in and it's quite sad so far. Anyone else watched it?
Yes we have and found it different but entertaining , the sad bit is yet to come . Amazing that so many are still kicking around .

Folks, I mentioned in previous posts that my dear sister was battling pancreatic cancer. Sadly, despite intensive chemo and r/therapy, we got bad news today that it has now spread to organs and her bones, and treatment is being stopped. Thank God she has a strong faith and a very positive outlook.

She realised a lifetime ambition to get to the Centre Court in Wimbledon this year for a few days.

Those of you that have a faith, please keep her in your prayers that she remains calm and pain free. She is in an excellent Palliative Care Unit in Dublin where the care has been just wonderful.

I am going to see her in the morning - she is an Evertonian too, and we went to some matches together with Mrs and Miss BR over the years. She is a huge fan of our Seamus, and she also was thrilled to meet Fellaini on one trip - he was staying in the same hotel.

She has had a a good life, albeit 64 is too young.

God Bless.

Sorry to hear that mate. My thoughts are with you all.

Morning all, hope you are well. Well it’s day 6 of my varifocals and I still feel like I’ve borrowed someone else’s eyes. When I get it right they feel fine, but a lot of the time I feel like I’m living in a semi fuzzy world. A bit like a cross between one of those nodding dogs you used to put in the back of your car and the girl out of The Exorcist, I seem to be always moving my head to find the best spot to see clearly.
Mr P clearly thinks I’m over analysing and being dramatic having worn his for years quite happily. So do I give up or try them for longer?
Have a great day
Preserve and then give them up lol

Yep, she watched the match in her room, and texted afterwards "Absolutely wonderful Dubs. FANTASTIC! Nerve -wracking final 10 minutes...but we did it!! Sam is back!!!"

Go raibh maith agat a chara dhilis, agus taimid an-bhuioch duit de reir do phaidreacha. :)

So, so sorry to hear this BR. 64 is way too young. I pray she suffers no pain and that you and the family have the strength to help her towards her end. Again, desperately sorry for her and yourselves…..
