Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. It's Friday! Well done @jazzy on the takings. @Val P enjoy the hen do. Should be fun. Daughter is 26 tomorrow so we are going out for a meal tonight. She wants to go to Estabulo which appears to be a carnivores paradise. So apologies to the veggies on here. I've gradually changed my diet over the last 18 months or so. I can't claim to be a vegetarian but I reckon I'm about 75% pescatarian. Speaking of which I don't eat oak, beech or sycamore ' I'm treetotal.🤣 Sorry!

When do you go on your hols @Barnfred 55 ? I know it's soon. If you see any whales take some pics for me.
Have a lovely day everyone x

Morning everyone,

Spent yesterday helping Mrs J in the charity shop.
She was absolutely made up with the takings of ÂŁ380 whilst she dealt with stock in the back room and treated me to a vegetable chow mein on the way home - we know how to live it up , we even had chips with it!

It's amazing what some people do in the shop. Just because it's a charity shop they seem offended when I refuse to accept a reduced offer and perplexed when I ask if they request a reduced price at Boots.

Didnt see any shop lifters but who knows?

A very nice dealer came in and was interested in a silver cigarette box that fortunately I had researched for Mrs J. So I went into full Bargain Hunt expert mode " vacant cartouche, great condition, crisp hallmarks showing 1928 Birmingham, nice engine turning and deco style" . Seemed to work as I got ÂŁ95 for it.

The shop is opposite onstreet parking including a number of disabled slots. On 2 occasions I noticed parking inspectors give tickets to massive 4x4s presumably parked without blue cards. Unbelievable.

We regularly get visits from footballers wives who donate some really nice ( well expensive , some is tasteless).

Anyway I was knackered when I got home , surprising how a perma smile and being nice to everyone takes it out of you.

So, @Barnfred 55 not long to go now before your epic journey. Should be absolutely fantastic.

Housework day today and then cutting some grass this afternoon. No rest for the wicked.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Four more get ups to go. Pretty sorted really. Going into Falmouth today for the obligatory haircut. Was hoping to go to the cinema too to see the latest Mission Impossible movie. However I looked up the matinee times and it was. Screen 1 Barbie. Screen 2 Barbie. Screen 3 Barbie. Screen 4 Barbie. Screen 5 Elemental. And screen 6 Super Mario brothers. Oh how I hate school holidays. lol

I'll still have a nice lunch and maybe a pint or 2 and pick up toiletries and some bottles of cheap tonics for the boat. Then catch the last of the racing from Goodwood. I'll then do some last minute washing tomorrow and have a bit of a tidy up on Sunday before packing Monday. 7am start on Tuesday to get to Southampton.

One largish case will do me and a small carry on plus suit carrier. Cal used to have one case for her toiletries and make up and another for her shoes and handbags. She'd have matching shoes and bags for almost every evening outfit. lol

Barbie is not what it seems. It's brilliant. A bit dark, very funny and full of feminist messages. Give it a try.

Yeah. Like I'm going to go to the matinee with a hoard of screaming girls lol

I'll wait until it comes on Sky movies and watch it without anybody else knowing. I have an reputation to protect;)
My very lovely but very loony lefty female friends are completely overthinking this film. Some of them have written Facebook posts that are worthy of a PhD about the patriarchy, why women don't have toys but it is perfectly acceptable for a man to have a life size model of Captain America in his living room. Its why I love these ladies and has reminded me I need a catch up with them to drink beer and talk b*ll*cks (colloquially not actually)
