That sounds like the number of different running shoes I have in the garage , they work their way down from race only , training, comfortable for walking, wear about town , to gardening shoes. Fortunately itās balanced as Mrs b also has items she seems to purchase frequently , as in this mornings ā I may have just bought anotherā¦.āQuestion
What does a guitar maker buy himself for his birthday ?
A guitar of course !
There are now more guitars in my lounge than beers in the fridge ā¦
Eughh! For many years I frowned on ice in single malt , but I now find it acceptable , but it tends to be and on / off thing with me, currently off. For scotch I tend to think there can be too much snobbery attached at times, ice or water are acceptable if thatās what people prefer. I seem to remember someone, probably Chicoazul , promoting keeping red wine in the fridge. Ah , the different tastes of Goters !My neighbour puts ice in his port. I always want to scream at him
Shocking!Hi folks. Greetings from Manchester Airport. Obligatory photo below. Earlier today we were refused entry to security. Not because we were deemed to be international terrorists but because we were too early! It was ridiculous. We tried to ho through at 11 am. No queue, not many people about. The scanner wouldn't let us through and we were told we were too early and to come back at 11.43 ( very specific). When we went back the security area was heaving, there was a queue out of the door up the stairs and they were actively stopping people from scanning their boarding cards because it was so full. How is that logical?
Anyway large glass of Pinot has chilled Mrs Angry out!View attachment 228162
Syros, Tinos and Andros. Big shout out to @Val P for sharing her island hopping wisdom with me.Shocking!
Which islands are you gracing with your presence?
At one time it was trendy to chill red wine , particularly Fluerie.Eughh! Yes indeed it is true. Often if Iām doing a whisky tasting Iāll try a dram neat first , then add a wee bit of water to release flavours . Ice has a similar affect as it melts .Not a whisky drinker myself but am led to believe that adding water will open up the aromas and the flavours of the drinkā¦..no idea if true mindā¦
Iām very impressed to learn you held off for 30 mins before drinking itAt one time it was trendy to chill red wine , particularly Fluerie.
Less so now although I have to admit that room temperature was so high in Greece that I popped the red in the fridge for 30 minutes before drinking.
I'm with you Pete. I've never drunk whisky ( probably because I saw the effect that it had on my dad ) or brandy. Not a whisky drinker myself but am led to believe that adding water will open up the aromas and the flavours of the drinkā¦..no idea if true mindā¦
Oh I had a cold beer whilst I was waiting lol. In fact the fridge in the hotel room was so small I had to take the beer out to accommodate the bottle of wine .Yes indeed it is true. You have to be tenacious with these people so good for you to keep at them. A moan on their social media page might get you somewhere maybe?Morning, peeing down with rain all morning here. All my spare time at the moment is being taken up with ā email warsā as I try to get a number of issues resolved, grrrr.
I have been fortunate in being in a position of helping my three kids get on the property ladder, better to help them when theyāre young and need it than leave money in my Will etc. Two down , and Iāve currently gifted money to my youngest for his house deposit. Simple youād think . Except AntI Money Laundering laws now apply , and for the past two weeks Iāve been sending screenshots of savings accounts going back to 2019 trying to prove the money was mine and not ill gotten gains . Crazy stuff, and AML laws are something to watch out for if youāre ever in that position.
Meanwhile , I have been battling with KLM to get back legitimate expenses, hotels meals etc, incurred with cancellation of our flights in the recent Air Traffic thingy. Emails back and forth , them claiming they hadnt received them , resend, then they couldnāt view the receipts, 2 resends, then they could view them but send further receipts. Twice Iāve replied there are no further receipts , but still they continue with ā all is fine thank you, send moreā . They are obviously taking the pee and deliberately blocking paying , despite it being a legal requirement and me providing receipts etc. So Iāve had to up the stakes this morning indicating I will be writing to four KLM directors, UK customer services, industry organisations that resolve disputes etc and a final threat ultimately of court action. This may seem like an excessive response but the whole trail of their emails over the past two weeks is quite shocking and looks like itās designed to wear you down and hope you go away . It is wearying but Iām not giving up on this!
Every so often my two cousins travel up from Liverpool and we have a whisky tasting evening itās good fun , and severely reduces my whisky cabinet! I donāt drink that much whisky these days but feel obliged to support a local industry, particularly as I claim to be the only GOT member who can see a distillery from their conservatoryI'm with you Pete. I've never drunk whisky ( probably because I saw the effect that it had on my dad ) or brandy.
I don't mind the occasional G&T and as a youth stank screwdrivers when clubbing.
Now I stick to wine and an odd beer ( not that Guinness is that odd) lol
Ah thanks @anjelikaferrett youāre very welcome .. but donāt blame me if things donāt go right . Ded jealous me xSyros, Tinos and Andros. Big shout out to @Val P for sharing her island hopping wisdom with me.
