Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I'm still not fully myself but I'm getting there! Both my knees are knackered so now I have to do exactly what I'm told. This us an alien concept to me!

Hope you are doing ok @Barnfred 55.
Hey Messy. Nice to hear from you. Yes you need to do as you're told! We'll send the boys round if you don't. ? ? More seriously, lovely that you are able to post. Here's to a great result tomorrow x

Morning all.

Hope you had a restful sleep Messy and that today is a good day.

The transfer speculation seems to be picking up speed and given that Benitez has total control I suspect that we will see a fair bit of business.

The thought of Digne going out and Ramsey coming in smacks of short termism to me , but what do I know.

Has everyone done their Crimbo shopping?
I spent a very uncomfortable afternoon in town , just too many people and will finish off online , even though I hate online shopping.

Couldn't find the Strictly Annual anywhere and my 94 Yr old mum loves getting it every year.

It's like a return to childhood when you used to love to get the Beano / Dandy / Shoot annual.

Anyway big walk for the dogs today and then off to the gym.

Have a good day everyone.
Good morning,

I've just about finished my shopping - need a couple of stocking fillers for my kids. Given their ages these will undoubtedly involve alcohol! I have bought my son an Everton desk calendar.
Amazon have got the Strictly annual. I hate giving money to that toe rag Jeff Bezos but sometimes needs must! You can also get a Strictly calendar from Calendar Club if your Mum would like that too.
My son told me that there were loads of rumours on social media before the Arsenal game that Digne was the source of Everton stories being leaked to The Athletic. I don't subscribe to The Athletic so haven't seen the stories. However I can guess they were not complimentary. That was supposed to be reason he was dropped. If the rumours are true then he will be out in January - he's clearly unhappy, he's been a shadow of the player he was last season. If he is so negative he could also be affecting everybody. I'm sure we've all worked with people whose mood affects the whole team, you're waiting for them to come in to see what kind of a mood they are in. If it's a bad one you know you are in for a difficult day. However I agree buying Ramsay is a short term fix.

My daughter is attending her first football match next week. She's bought her boyfriend tickets for Middlesbrough v Bournemouth as part of his Christmas present so they will be going to the Riverside.
I actually like Digne and hate the thought of losing him. Sure he hasn't been his best lately but tbh many of our player haven't been. My concern is that tendency Benitez has about getting rid off players that are too outspoken.

You are right l, Jazzy. I read in the Athletic that Digne hasn’t been happy with the more defensive role because it curbs his ability to influence games on counter-attacking. He also seems to be unhappy with being taken off set-piece duties. All good but these conflicts seem to be having an effect on his performance. I just hope that Benitez doesn’t continue pushing talented players out of the team without signing real talents.

Beautiful
Thanks, Jazzy.

Errrr not good at learning different languages?

So I'm guessing that your mother tongue is Spanish ( please excuse my ignorance if I'm wrong Sassy ) and your command of English is outstanding.

Whe you come over you will find that you speak English better than most of us.
I’m really not good but the brain does amazing things that one at times can’t even imagine.

Both my mom and dad native language is Spanish as it is mine, I became fluent in English once I moved to the US (long time ago) when I was 17. But when I first moved here I thought I was never going to learn. My strength was math no languages but my brain learned it and here I’m lol

Hello @messymascot and fellow Blues. I have yet to catch up to this thread. The past couple of days were overwhelming. Yesterday I was so busy that my watch counted I did over 27,000 steps compared to my usual 9,000 or so. But now it is the time to relax. We are currently at the airport waiting for our flight but before I don’t have signal I wanted to post a quick message.

I hope everyone is having a good day and I hope to be able to continue reading this thread so I can find out if dear Karl has stopped by to say hello. Know that even if I’m not here often the next few days, you are always on my mind and my heart ?

Good morning Messy, Fred and the gang, Karl, thanks again for your message yesterday, more of the same today if you can, Jazzy you and Mrs J enjoy your Nepalese meal, I love Momo's, you can tell us all about it and make my mouth water later.

I had a rude awakening there at 0755, my Dad had phoned from his hospital bed to tell me he'd just been attacked in his bed by a mentally ill patient who'd attacked a nurse the previous night, he's okay but shocked and lost his concept of time, though the good news is he should get out today, my Dad's 86 and claims the guy is the same age, it's a shame but he really should be in a room of his own if he is violent.
@larbert toffee i hope your dad is over the shock and feeling better today but I’m sure yesterday’s episode must have been scary for him and you. That’s not the rude awakening that you wish to have on a Friday.

Morning all. @messymascot how are you today. It was so lovely to hear from you yesterday. I am truly in awe of your courage. You have touched so many hearts with your presence on here.

@jazzy , your poor Dad. What an awful experience for him. Sadly another sign of chronic underfunding and nowhere for people like your Dad's assailant to go other than in a general ward. There was somebody similar on my Dad's ward when he was in recently. Youngish bloke, drug and alcohol issues. Had to have a nurse beside his bed 24/7 to prevent him getting out of the ward or attacking the other patients. Enjoy your meal tonight.

I'm going to Liverpool tomorrow. The postponed Storm Arwen trip! Will be nice to see everybody.
Have a great trip at Liverpool today, Anger! I appreciate you giving match updates here for Messy and even me. We will be driving tomorrow during the match so I won’t be able to watch it ☹️

I'm still not fully myself but I'm getting there! Both my knees are knackered so now I have to do exactly what I'm told. This us an alien concept to me!

Hope you are doing ok @Barnfred 55.
Don't you worry about me mate. I'm fine. All the better for seeing you posting again. You concentrate on getting yourself right.

I think Sassy is away for the match tomorrow so Anj may have to step up to the plate for us. Not sure what's going on with Digne but I hope he's back for tomorrow's game. Last thing we need right now is an obstinate manager who holds a grudge.

Look after yourself buddy.

Morning Messy. Hope the new meds are kicking in and you're a bit more with it. Great to hear from you yesterday and I hope you take comfort from the fact everybody on here is a 1000% behind you and rooting for you.

Hello everybody else. Sorry not been about last few days. Been feeling a bit sorry for myself but Messy's post yesterday soon sorted that out giving me the kick up the backside that was needed.

Just about to pop out to the local shop and pick up a Cornish Pasty for lunch. Hopefully I can avoid the showers.
Fred, I am slowly catching up to this thread between flights and i wanted make sure to tell you that you have every right to feel sorry for yourself. This time of the year must be very hard without Cal and enduring all these feelings are normal as you continue your grieving. Like many have already told you, we are here for you during this hard time. We also care about you a lot. Xx

Morning all on this beautiful morning ,I hope @messymascot had a great nights sleep and is saving his strength for tomorrow .I agree @Barnfred 55 my wife says "keep it stupid simple" I am sure you get the point ,we do the same rock salt and black pepper .
I was given some Himalayan salt ( pink) by a friend who watches everything he eats as he has colon problems ,anyway it seems that that is the only salt which can poison you as it has arsenic , mercury and lead although in minute doses.
I hope all have a great day today .
Today's food is scrambled eggs with truffle ,at lunch salmon roe with smetana and chopped raw onion and for our evening meal it is Reindeer stew with Lingonberry and mashed spuds again with chopped onion just before serving .
I cannot wait.
Yummy, all that food sounds super delicious @blue1948 I hope you enjoyed it!
