Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Like you blue I awoke with bad back pain.
I knew it was going to happen, it often does. Yesterday I was putting the washing on the line and bent down to pick up a t shirt and felt a twinge , and that's all it takes. Now in excruciating pain but fortunately it goes after a couple of days , usually after I reset my posture in bed for a couple of nights , weird I know.
Well unfortunately I'm supposed to be playing table tennis tonight but can't see any prospect of that happening so will need to line up a sub.

Lots of cat talk yesterday and mostly about their hunting and predatory behaviour but I feel that I need to redress the balance.
Since we got Rosie , now 2 ( remember when we got her as a pup) Susie the cat decided to pack all her things in a knotted hanky and stick and moved in with granny . She is a lovely companion for mum. Yesterday I went over a saw her sat next to mum wrapped in a blanket ( Susie not mum ) looking very spoilt and contended. "Unlike you , she listens to me " she said. I replied " Good job she can't speak given that you're deaf". But genuinely they do have a real bond and understanding.
Granny followed this up with "She went mad before when she saw an Ostrich outside"
"What ? " I said.
"No not an ostrich, a peacock".
"Mum there are no peacocks around here ( although we used to have a pair 12 years ago) , are you sure . Do you think it was a pheasant ( we get plenty of them ) "
"Yes that's right".

And that's the sort of guessing game that I have to play every day . Usually it's a bit of fun but sometimes, when you are pressed for time it can be difficult.

However, Susie understands exactly what she means....... apparently.

Anyway have a lovely day everyone.
Aww. That's so lovely. Susie and your Mum clearly have a great relationship. Love the thought of an ostrich wandering around your garden! Cats get a bad press about being aloof but they can be so affectionate. Ours has got my working from home routine totally worked out. We have morning cuddles before I log on then she sits next to me for the morning before going to bed! She also knows the best way to get attention is to walk across my keyboard. She hates Wednesdays because I'm off and sits next to my laptop as if to say ' come on it's work time'.
Hope the back gets better soon.

Afternoon all. Spent the morning in town where we met daughter and grandkids nos. 3 & 4. They had been promised a treat in a well known dessert and ice cream shop, which proved an interesting and experience. Took about 45 minutes for food & drinks to arrive, Hannah asked for large bubble tea, which proved too much and she couldn’t drink it all, Jess had a small bubble gum slushie which she couldn’t drink it at all! To be fair it did taste like bubble bath. Daughter ordered carrot cake with cream cheese topping, asked whether she wanted ice cream or whipped cream said neither, no option for that so opted for whipped and got ice cream. The carrot cake was hot when it arrived, cream cheese melted all over the plate, she complained and got a refund. Then by way of apology for the wait we were offered more ice cream or whipped cream which we declined. Proved an interesting experience which cost over £35, can’t say we will be back in a hurry.
Hope your backs are easier, @jazzy and @blue1948. Lovely story about your Mum @jazzy , agree with @anjelikaferrett love the thought of an ostrich in your garden.

Afternoon everyone. I couldn’t cope with a cat bringing me dead animals and birds which is why, as cute as they are, I’m definitely a dog person. Just got back from walking a beautiful American bulldog and a Dogue de Bordeaux/Boxer cross. Beautiful girls who considering their size are absolute poppets. Hearing a lot of rumours about Bill Kenwright this afternoon which, if untrue, are despicable. Also filled in a survey this week about preferences for seats in the new ground - it’s all getting exciting.
Your experience with the puds sound awful @Gwladysover - what did you have? Hope your backs improve guys - I can recommend a brilliant physio in West Lancs who cured mine and gave me specific exercises to do if I ever feel it coming back which stop it in its tracks. You know they’re good when their customer base consists of a lot of health professionals.
My car is in for its service etc tomorrow so that’s going to hurt my purse. Enjoy the rest of your day 💙

I'm sad about Bill Kenwright. Yes he may have stayed on too long but he was a good- hearted man, an Evertonian through and through and gave Evertonians over a certain age the best days we've ever had. I reckon this was why he wasn't sacked with DBB et al - they knew he was dying.
How much of a coincidence that our opponents on Sunday are managed by David Moyes.

It is a sad day Anj.

My thoughts are with his partner and his family.

In time I'm sure we will debate / review his legacy and contribution to Everton but I'm personally not comfortable doing that today.

In answer to your and @Gwladys over question about my back , no ping pong tonight and I've done 3 hours of recuperative yoga . The pain has eased a bit but still very sore. Hopefully it will be fine in a couple of days.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

Had a quick look in his thread before and it was very respectful. You never know with some people on here.

But yeah. Sad day.
