Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Been to town again today with grandkids nos 3 & 4 as they wanted to visit the cathedral. We’ve been before when various displays have been on but this was the first time they were able to see it uncluttered by dinosaurs, or various space exhibits. They both seem fascinated by churches and cathedrals, we’ve visited a few with them.I can still feel the wonder of attending the Peterborough Schools’ carol concert at the Cathedral when I was in junior school, I think this ignited my love of history. I hope it will be the same for them too. Here’s a couple of pics. I had one of the ceiling that the girls are admiring but I can’t get it to load :(

Yes we did. The car park half way across was being used as a site to support the road works there so we couldn’t stop as we usually do. The waterfalls were lovely due to all the rain we’ve been having. I love the run down from Penrith to Ambleside its so beautiful and relatively quiet. Is the Queens Head the one in Troutbeck?
Yes. On the road up to the pass. It was destroyed by fire but I believe its reopened.

Well I never knew Peterborough had a cathedral- it looks magnificent. I love visiting cathedrals and seeing all the history that goes with them

Great photos!

Until I was in Liverpool I never knew that Churches had exhibitions of a non religious nature. My enlightenment was one to Everton Football club in the Anglican. Then I saw it also had a cafe!! And it had bottled beer!!!’

Culture shock.

Morning all, I know it’s a bit early but such is life. My lad thinks my wife may have been sneaking some of the red wine left on the dining room table, so now it has to be hidden. Unfortunately it exacerbates a urinary incontinence which appears to be a sad by-product of the Alzheimer’s. Not a big problem any longer, but it was a bit of a pain when changing bedding and nightclothes at two or three in the morning before we geared up for it. I asked the doctor if it was a urinary infection but several tests later showed it was just part and parcel of the dementia. Anyway sorry for sharing that at this ungodly hour but I woke when my wife decided to have a little wander around the house, she’s back in bed now and fast asleep. I will be joining her in the land of nod very shortly I hope. Anyway I will be fast asleep when you all wake up so I hope you all have a great Saturday…..
