Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I can guarantee that if the weather tomorrow is ok, I wont want to move! I will be able to clear the lions share of the mortgage in the new year, have Nikki's windfall (plus a bit more) on the hip, so zero pressure either way. In hindsight, I have had a rough few years, not unique to me granted, and a particularly patchy last several months. (Physical and upstairs). So we will see.

I hope it all works out for you mate…..

Evening everyone, should have posted this the other evening but forgot🤦‍♀️. As daughter dropped us off at home hugs and kisses with granddaughters when Jess piped up “Grandad, have you ever kissed Nanny?” “Yes I have” “Really? When?” “When we got married!” “Grandad’s kissed Nanny!” You could hear the laughter as the car went up the road. lol

I remember taking two of my kids to see Mary Poppins. They loved it. As we we driving away I said that I saw it when I was young. The eldest of the two said we wondered why there were no cars in it…then both burst into laughter……..kids eh….

I moved last year mate 2 years after Sues death , just me and my daughter now and we both felt there were too many memories in the old house and we had been there 27 years.
If you are happy where you are despite the size of the house why move.

So, other than the tyres is it now working ok ?…….
Well no ! But the other things are not on the test ,such as central locking and fault light flashing for the indicator when it actually works ! I researched the law on the tyres and if the conditions are OK it is legal to drive still at this time of year ,so I can take it to the MOT place .The one I test drove the other day had a 4l engine ,I drive fast but that frightened me .I have driven cars with 0-60 time of 5.5 secs but that Jag must have been programmed .The guy wants around 5k but at the moment it is 556€ at under 2k I will get it but I am sure he won't sell.

The 2 years was me mate. It sounds daft, but I didnt feel like doing the claim. Mad innit? I only have to open a vial of her Chanel #5 (yeah, still have one) to be reminded of her, and arsed if I am buying another one of them! Starting (again) to consider selling our cottage. Its too big for one, and although the market here is a bit flat, it has one unique asset that might appeal; a massive plot if demolished.
Wasn't your neigbour in league if you sold up? Well done on the windfall .

Good morning all on this dull day here in Hyvinkää .I hope all are well and had a good night .
A little welcome frivolity on here yesterday ,even a lawyer making us laugh ,so nice to see as there is enough misery about ,well done lads .It is so nice for Roydo to have a few bob coming but the memories mean far more I am sure .On the house move only he will know as there are both sides of the decision to consider .
I talked to @Barnfred 55 about the same thing as his is too big for one as I am sure you all know ,he had the opportunity to move about a year ago but chose to stay ,to me before I went I thought that a strange decision as he doesn't drive but on meeting him and spending a lovely week there I fully understood .
On the market being flat ,it is at the other end as well so whatever you buy will have been affected the same I would think ,@roydo .
On a personal front , there is chaos here getting the latest jab for Covid related bugs ,we just managed to get an appointment before the proverbial hit the fan .

I'm presuming that this is a hobby blue ( as opposed to actually needing a car for transport) in which case I suppose that it beats playing with a train set.
Does Mrs B enjoy your tinkering?

Morning everyone not much to report from me. Flu jab yesterday then a few errands. Free day today- we seem to have got into the habit of going out for the day on Friday recently. We always put our walking boots in the boot of the car with such good intentions but end up mooching and having coffee and cake. I am enjoying Shetland too, it’s always strange at first when there’s a different main character until you get into the story.
Have a great Friday all 💙

That’s so cute

Morning all, received some sad news first thing. One of our son’s cavaliers died this morning. Woody (my avatar) had been coughing yesterday but was okay otherwise, been out for a walk and eating. When they got up he had taken a turn for the worse so rang the emergency vet and while they were on the phone Woody just gasped and had gone. He was only eight but had the best life. Farewell, Woody.
Have a good day, all, 💙

Oh poor Woody. Sorry to hear this. It's so sad when you lose a much loved pet x

Watched a piece on gambling addiction.

Surely there is a relatively simple answer , just ban all gambling adverts?

But oh no... .too much money involved.
I’ve railed against gambling in sport in a few GOT threads, Sports Pesa , Stake etc , this based on my experiences with a young male relative who got caught up in the phone betting stuff ,became addicted, lost lots of money, impacted his life etc. Thankfully he turned it all around. There is a lack of understanding on just how pernicious sports gambling addiction can be , with comments like “ well they don’t have to bet if they don’t want to”. I ve said a few times that I think in years to come we‘ll look back at our shirts sponsorship with a degree of embarrassment. Sorry for the mini rant first thing, but a subject close to my heart .
