Great photo, you were lucky to catch I imagine. The only time I‘ve come across a Capercaillie was about 20 years ago, I startled one when orienteering , in Birnam Woods of all places, that of Macbeth fame. I was surprised at how big it was , lovely birds to see.

@Val P I saw a programme about Chatsworth At Christmas preparations it looked amazing. We’ve been to Bakewell a couple times too, it’s lovely there and home (if it’s still there) to one of the husband’s favourite shops - a large hardware store. He spends ages in there - who needs scenery?

I literally couldn’t get to sleep on Friday night worrying about this and the dog situation and other minor stresses around me at the moment. Great to hear you’re putting up those lights @Armaghtoffee, I love the lights and everything about the build up to Christmas. I’ve been sneaking the odd Christmas ornament out of the cupboard this week and putting them in their place around the house. This Wednesday we are going to Chatsworth House - it’s just stunning at Christmas- we went for the first time last year and had a lovely morning in Bakewell and afternoon at the hall - magical.
