Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Well now you mention it fella.

If I remember right you changed jobs recently enough. How’s it working out for you?
To be quite honest, we're a bit lucky here as the view isn't as bad as it could be - loads of greenery and only those 2 eyesores in the distance, I'll show how it is when you can actually see through the snowy mist haha

Was about to post about that at some point - almost a full month in and it's very overwhelming but in a good way, if that makes sense. Loads of learning experiences and actually back to liking what I'm doing a lot more, which is a massive bonus, while working with new to me technologies and getting opportunities I never would have in my previous job; feels very mentally stimulating, which I personally like obviously lol

Only negative is there's always something to do, but that comes with the job and all that, so not complaining really.

Glad you asked mate! x

Did you manage to warm up a bit at least? North UK cold is a different type of cold altogether, I remember the Glasgow cold not very fondly lol We're snowed in as you can see but the temp is basically 0 to -4 - me and the SO walked for 13km today while it was still starting off and it was decent for the most part. Jacket and hat and all that, sure, but no wind made it basically fresh to be honest.

Starting a new job is one of the hardest things to do in life. We all have our work personas but you do find your mates that you can be properly you with. Cherish those people.

I’m warm now but it’s drink related so it’s a false economy 😀

Haha, false or not, if it works - it works lol

And yeah, so far so good, we'll see in the future obviously, but liking working with normal people for a change really lol

Being happy in your work makes all the difference.
Absolutely. For me personally it's that and being interested/mentally stimulated with the work - old job was full days where you're doing menial crap or just sitting, it felt downright depressing after a while. I like having lazy/easy going days but if it's mostly that it becomes a bit sad.

I get it totally. I was self employed and took a salaried job and the difference is night and day. Some weeks it is mental pressure but other weeks I’m paid to scratch. Peaks and troughs.

Going back out on my own next year again, got the Mojo.

Godspeed mate, my dad left his own business (He quit? Fired himself? lol ) as it was too much and too uncertain and he's now in a corporation, but at his age it also provides him with safety, which is very important in its own way after a while.

Job security is paramount now. The price of the weekly shop is stupid. Outrageous.

God help people as I am sure there are many struggling.

Good morning all on this dark morning here in Finland . I hope all are well and a bit warmer where needed .Nice to see @DualityNSNO 's Bulgaria and his attitude to the weather . It is a crucial day today ,although I don't feel too worried about the points deduction if we lose today it could make the players react .They are winning without playing well so let's hope for a win for justice .COYB

Good morning all. Early start for overtime- I'll be finished by 11 though. However I might run out of work so it could be earlier. I'm hoping that there's a case with about 500 or more pages of reading in my allocation!
I couldn't believe yesterday when at one point both Burnley and Luton were winning. The football gods just hate us. However David Moyes did us a favour and beat Burnley.
I'm enjoying the snowy pics from Finland and Bulgaria so thanks @blue1948 and @DualityNSNO . I'm going to Prague in February for a few days so I'm hoping it might still have some snow. Good King Wenceslas and all that......🤣
Anyway, back to work! Have a lovely day - catch up later.

Morning all, cold and grey here, that’s the weather and me now the heating has gone off, still have some ironing to do so that should warm me up a bit - every cloud..
Supposed to be going to a Christmas lights switch on at 5 but the forecast isn’t good, such a shame as yesterday evening was cold and bright however if it rains I can see the match, proving my every cloud theory…lol.
Love the snow pics @blue1948 and @DualityNSNO, we rarely get snow here, grandkids barely know what it is and go mad if there’s just enough to cover the pavement.
Hope you finish sooner rather than later @anjelikaferrett, 368 pages sounds rather a complicated case.
Have a good day, all💙

Morning everyone. Bit nippy this morning but no signs of snow for us - loving the snow pics. Lazy morning for me before we set off for GP. Don’t know what to expect from today on or off the field but it will be highly charged atmosphere I’m sure of that. At 63 I’m contemplating going on my first ever protest march- the older I get the more of an angry old woman I’m becoming.
