Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this white day here in Hyvinkää .I hope all had a good night and have a fine day today .
I finally managed to get wheels and fit them ,the ones I bought had the right bolt pattern but when I raised the car the nuts were too big as they had a washer on them so off to the tyre place who luckily had the ones I wanted .I bought the wheels and tyres for 300€ ,the guy wanted 350€ -guess how much the nuts cost ! Anyway the test is booked for Thursday as we go to the town to shop so the wife insists she wants to drive with me in case - the faith wives have in their husbands .
I have cleared the snow for the first time but something tells me this will be a cold hard winter . We all love minus 5 and snow it is when it melts and freezes that it becomes treacherous .
Have a great day all COYB

Hi Blue, glad you got the wheels sorted……

Hi All!

My Mom has been visiting since the 14th, so I've been BUSY being chauffeur, chef, TV viewing partner, etc. you understand! lol I hope all is well with everyone!

I haven't begun my job yet which I guess is a good thing since my Mom is here. She leaves on Thursday, so my schedule will go back to normal...well until the job starts. smh

Hope all of you have a great day!!

COYB!!!

Good morning all (even though got up earlier cuz of work and all, but home office is a blessing lol ), hope everyone's alright!

The snow has sadly started to clear here as we're back to 0-10C temperatures for the next 2 days and we also had rain last night and this morning. Sad about that, but happy that I've gotten no damages to my car or anything - because the snow came in early a lot of the deciduous trees still had a full crown of leaves, so they were ridiculously heavy and a lot just snapped in half over people/people's cars. Mine was covered in snow and had some leaves and a few tiny twigs fall on the snow on top of it, so no damages that I can see (double lucky, as I just got it back from the bodyshop as I hit the door like a knob a while ago ffs).

Have to go through the wheels process same as @blue1948 but the snow was preventing me, so now I have no excuse but to buy and mount a new set for winter lol Also Blue - do you have a mobile wheel/tyre service in Finland? I've not taken my car to get them done, nor done them myself since forever as I just call them up and pay the minimal fee for them to do everything from a van right next to the car hah

Morning all, very frosty here and currently -2 but no sign of snow in the forecast. Off to the kennels this morning, I’ve a sneaky feeling I’m going to be like Bambi on ice as I’m dragged around by my two favourite bull breeds. Spent yesterday decorating the Xmas tree and the house - I love it when it feels Christmassy. Hope everyone is ok - like @Gwladysover said, it’s been a bit quiet on here lately. Take care everyone 💙

Good morning all on this wonderful day here in Finland .I hope all are well and had a good night . Off for a run around in the Jag to clear the cobwebs before I take her in for the test .The bloody thing has taken over my life for the last six months .
Have a great day all COYB

No I haven't heard of that a good idea .I do my own as I am a tightasre . Do you get as low as -20° ? here we do and when you go into the forest you sometimes hear the trees crack with the remaining sap freezing and splitting the trunk ,it is like a gunshot . I have often thought of a trip to Bulgaria ,sadly the wife has let her passport run out and has no wish to renew since Covid . It looks lovely where you are ,what city/town is it ?

Morning all, bright morning here after a beautiful moonlit night. Off to see my friend for a natter again this morning.
I use the easyfundraising app to donate to charity whenever I shop online. I decided, for various reasons, it was time for a change, searching through the causes I found Mrs J’s charity @jazzy, so have signed up for them, it’s not much but as they say every little…..
Mind how you go @Val P , pIty there’s no snow you could harness the bully’s to a sledge. lol
Have a good day, all💙

It did cross my mind to do that 😂 but as they’re so strong I have to take them one at a time

I'm a bit of an outlier here as I'm in the capital of Sofia, but the apartment we picked was basically picked on location - not far from centre/underground station/bus and tram stops, but quiet, as we're in the middle of a greener area and the entire apartment looks towards a mountain (Vitosha, pictured above between the mist lol ) Most of the city is overcrowded with new buildings or just soviet/communist era 15 story blocks as you saw above, but we luckily only have a few here.

We have fantastic places to visit and great nature though, worth a visit if you want to

And on the temps - -20C is a rarity, we get -15 or so for a few weeks/month at most and we usually don't get this situation as this was a bizarre occurrence of an early snow storm, really. The trees still have leaves, leaves froze and got heavy and snapped a lot of big trees sadly, but nothing anyone could do in reality. I did hear one snap now and I have before, it's very much a gunshot tbh.

We do get 40C+ summers though, which is crap. I miss the Glasgow weather, no joke - at least you know what it is, it's a constant for the entire season. We have extremes here that can do your head in, as it's not unusual to have as it currently is - 2 days of negatives, followed by a few days of 4-10C all day or sunny days! Annoying, to be honest lol
