Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello everybody. I hope you are all OK. @Vegas Toffee Girl it must have been lovely having your Mum to stay. Put your feet up and have a rest before you start your job! Do you have a date yet? @blue1948 I hope the Jag passed its MOT. @Val P how was the dog walking and @jazzy I hope you are fully recovered now.
It's freezing here. Our temperature has hovered around -1 all day. Loads of frost but no snow....yet.
@DualityNSNO my son has been skiing in Bulgaria on two occasions. He loves it.
There's a glorious sunset tonight. These pics don't do it justice.20231129_160054.webp20231129_154934.webp

Fab pics Ange! The dog walk went well thank you. It was -2.5 at the kennel and a bit icy underfoot so I could only realistically take one of the two dogs out, as the other one is so strong that I probably couldn’t manage her and stay upright - not worth the risk. So my lovely Delilah got lots of one to one fuss today 💙🐾. It was truly beautiful walking in the cold though. How’s the job and the wedding prep going?

Good morning all on this white morning here in Hyvinkää. I hope all are well andhad a good night's sleep .
Well the Jag -I went out for a run to make sure all was well ,it was very slippy even with the studded tyres the rear was twitching .Too much power at the rear ,any way she developed a misfire which would fail the gases test so I had to cancel .
I had bought new bits to fit but as the weather has been a bit nippy I was too lazy to fit them ,now I must . It was just that to change the spark plugs which takes Jaguar mechanics two hours and then coil plugs and a new MAF filter so three hours at least .
Have a great day all COYB

All good thanks. They seem to have most of it sorted. I did have a sneaky look at posh frocks on line yesterday and actually saw a couple I really liked but no buying just yet. Son is going to take Mr F suit shopping after Christmas so he gets the right colour - they want dark blue.
The job is great. I've learned a few new things so that's always good.

I'm a bit of an outlier here as I'm in the capital of Sofia, but the apartment we picked was basically picked on location - not far from centre/underground station/bus and tram stops, but quiet, as we're in the middle of a greener area and the entire apartment looks towards a mountain (Vitosha, pictured above between the mist lol ) Most of the city is overcrowded with new buildings or just soviet/communist era 15 story blocks as you saw above, but we luckily only have a few here.

We have fantastic places to visit and great nature though, worth a visit if you want to

And on the temps - -20C is a rarity, we get -15 or so for a few weeks/month at most and we usually don't get this situation as this was a bizarre occurrence of an early snow storm, really. The trees still have leaves, leaves froze and got heavy and snapped a lot of big trees sadly, but nothing anyone could do in reality. I did hear one snap now and I have before, it's very much a gunshot tbh.

We do get 40C+ summers though, which is crap. I miss the Glasgow weather, no joke - at least you know what it is, it's a constant for the entire season. We have extremes here that can do your head in, as it's not unusual to have as it currently is - 2 days of negatives, followed by a few days of 4-10C all day or sunny days! Annoying, to be honest lol
Give me cold weather any day of the week ahead of that.

Straight off the press .Our neighbour mailed to say that a deer carcass was found in our forest and the local gamekeeper was informed ( by law ) he said it had been killed by a wolf ,she went on to add there had been another last week very near our house !! Gladly we have no photos to prove it .This is the neighbour that barely says hello .
Wow. Be careful when you are next foraging in the forest! Somebody might be foraging for humans. Although how fantastic would it be to see a wolf in the wild....from a safe distance of course!
