Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

….i had a detached retina op in 2021 on my left eye followed by a couple more in the following 12 months before it was all sorted. A bit concerned on Tuesday with more ‘floater activity’ in my right eye, so I went to St Paul’s A&E yesterday and my worst fears were confirmed, 5 tears and a detached retina in my right eye.

Straight in for emergency surgery at 07.30 this morning, not for the squeamish with local anisthetic and needles in your eye but fingers crossed for success.
Hope it all goes well for you, sounds horrific- be brave - I’d be a wreck 💙

Hope you don’t mind but a bit of help in case anyone needs it in relation to the patient choice stuff yesterday. And a tip, if you check CQC reports remember nearly every place inspected will have staff shortages and if the success of your organisation relies on identifying problems- you will find them.(I was offered a job as a specialist inspector when I retired but decided not to bother in the end as I couldn’t bear to be someone beating nhs staff with a stick for problems not of their making)

That’s good to know. I’ll bookmark that.

Good morning all. I hope you are well. It is exactly a year today since my Dad died. My brother has just messaged to say that his daughter in law, who was due to have a baby girl by C section on 1 May has gone into labour and it is likely that baby will be born today. How amazing is that.
Gosh doesn’t seem like a year and so lovely that a new member of the family will be born today.💙
