Morning all, just had a call from two excited grandkids who are off to Chessington for the weekend. After a conversation about which stomach churning rides they will be trying Hannah asked if we had a good time at the wedding. Yes we did, thanks, Were you the oldest ones there? I don’t think a career in the diplomatic corps is beckoning….lol.

Morning , I’m away on youngest sons stag do at a place called Piperdam , like a small Centre Parks . So far so good.

I know we’re limiting politics stories here, I’ll get this in before it loses relevance.
Back in 2017 election I was gardening when the doorbell went. There was a nice mid 60s lady obviously canvassing. “ Hello would you like to meet Michael Goff, he’s in the street?”
“ Who? Never heard of him , is he a Scottish Parliament List MSP? “ ( Under proportional representation these positions are allocated by the party )
“Oh no, he’s a big wig at HQ”
The penny drops “ Ah, you mean Michael Gove !”
“ Yes , that’s him , would you like to meet him ?”
“ No thanks I’m busy gardening “
I do vaguely regret the missed opportunity of saying “ Tell me Michael, what was it like stabbing your friend Boris in the back?” but doubt if I’d have had the courage, I’d probably have asked him what he was going to do about the amount of dog shoite in the park !

What a memory for all . As usual the bride steals the show ,your son looks smart with a four button sleeve ,those were the days ,we dressed in suits to go out dancing when it was all about which shaped collar and how many vents and buttons on the jacket .
Haha indeed, I remember ordering a( possibly my first) bespoke suit after much consideration about lapels, length of vent , four buttons on sleeve etc, happy days

That surprises me , Mrs bl was a Head of English and hated what he did when in that position . Mind you in North East Scotland he was largely disliked as he was born and grew up in Aberdeen though you’d never think it .
