Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Enjoying the graveyard talk. As most of you know my garden is quite big (about 2 acres) and the south eastern edge ( furthest away from the house) shares a boundary with the local cemetery.

When we first moved in there was a flimsy fence which we and visitors to the cemetery could look through. So, to give them and us privacy we grew a thick laurel hedge of about 10 feet in height. However we make sure that the dogs don't go down to that part of the garden (barking etc) and we avoid it when there is a burial.

The cemetery is beautifully maintained and when @anjelikaferrett visited she would have had no idea it was there.

Anyway we are one day closer to the end of the month and apparently seeing Everton released from their deal with 777.

So have a lovely day everyone.

Taking a chance on dodging the showers which were forecast we went over to Sawtry to visit the churchyard where Mr G’s parents ashes are buried, in fact he’s probably related to most of the inhabitants. The front of the church is well kept, the back less so and it must be the most neglected churchyard in the country. The rain stayed away and it was very pleasant in the sitting in the sun listening to the birds, shame about the constant hum of the traffic on the nearby A1M.
My grandfather is buried in a cemetery in his local church (small market town out in the sticks) and it's similar to this: nice at the front; heavily overgrown to the rear.

Every time I'm passing through, I go and tidy up his area, cut away as much of the grass as I can and polish his plaque. It's a very quiet, quaint and soulful place.

Good morning all. The wedding was beautiful- exactly as they wanted it. They wrote their own vows which were straight from the heart. I did shed a tear or two. They had a guitarist playing while they signed the register and had requested that he played parents' wedding songs at that point. If I told you ours was Bryan Adams Everything I Do, can you guess what year we got married?
We had a quick visit to Liverpool on the way back home on Saturday, got stuck on the M6 by an accident involving a horsebox so that delayed us a bit. The newlyweds visited us yesterday briefly - they are having a few days away in Northumberland.
Today me and Mr F are going to Redcar races. Its one of their big two meetings - the Zetland Gold Cup. Then back to work tomorrow. It's been a fun week off!
Have a lovely Bank Holiday x

My parents are buried together with my paternal grandparents. When my dad was alive he used to point out an airman’s grave nearby and being in the RAF himself used to tidy it up and share some of our flowers. I carry on this now.

The wedding sounds just perfect. Guessing the year you married was 1990. We didn’t have a wedding song but I had the Trumpet Voluntary played as I entered the church, our daughter also had that played as she walked up the aisle in the same church 34 years later.

Just getting a cortisone shot in the hip, I’ve had one knee replacement and not long till I get a new hip replacement I’m hoping

This getting old lark is not good, playing footie all my life and walking when I was a postie probably has a lot to do with it.
Good luck with that ,in the joint is hard but you are harder Stay strong that man.

I don’t know which Tom is getting out of bed. Knee is(insert word) most of the time, then this morning I am walking without a limp. Then I thought to myself you are still in pain amazing how used to it you get

May have mentioned it before, but I remember being on the phone to the wife from a square in northern France and Adam’s was playing on TOTP or some such thing. I love ugly men she said. Cheers girl
