Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I know this is going to sound wrong, but I’ve now watched the video of the lady coaching a pupil and horse in the dressage issue. There are a few things I find problematic. There is no doubt that she overdid the use of the whip, although for anyone who has ridden a horse knows that horses react to a whip, or a fly by the ear or a paper bag being blown by the wind in front of it. The horse seemed to be taking the mick tbh with what appears to be a beginner on its back, again this is what happens and it looked like the whip was being used to get it to behave. However, it’s the aftermath I have trouble with. The video was obviously timed to undermine the GB team, however the rider concerned immediately withdrew from the Olympics and has suffered no end of abuse since. This feels to me to be a grossly exaggerated issue, probably pushed by the Dutch, even though they have a child rapist representing them in volleyball. Everyone has jumped on it regarding the welfare of the horse, which tbh was minimal, and that’s fine, but what have the same people said or done about the near ninety horses that have died, actually died, in the Grand National. It now looks as though dressage will have had its day at the Olympics, something perhaps the Dutch didn’t expect, but so be it. Horse people love their horses and would never do anything that deliberately hurt them. Our village is full of horse riders and owners, a few are often in our pub car park having a drink of water. So far I’ve heard no one condemn this lady and all believe it to be overblown.Anyway that’s my take from this, sorry if this causes any offence…….

So, what’s everybody up to today ?…
I’m sitting in Wetherspoons  , drinking coffee while the car gets two new front tyres. Off to Leeds later to see Waxahatchee in concert.
