Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. Just catching up on the last few pages. Huge Congratulations to @Val P on the arrival of her granddaughter. What a beautiful name. @jazzy - revisiting my old haunts. We had our wedding reception in Marantos.
I haven't posted much because we haven't done much. It has been a totally chilled out holiday. However last night we went to see the turtles. It was amazing. A one hour, mostly off road, trip to the other side of the island to the nesting grounds. No human settlements anywhere nearby. Pitch black - the Milky Way clearly visible above and loafs of female turtles coming on the beach to lay. The wildlife guides use red light which doesn't affect the turtles. We just sat and watched. Then we saw some babies hatching and were allowed to help them into the sea - only 1 in 1000 survive
Here'ssome pics. Not great but hopefully you can aee something

Thank you, apart from being one myself I am not used to little girls so it will be a whole different world for me too.

Afternoon all. A tiny bit cooler today thank goodness with less humidity and a dodgy couple of days forecast. As much as I am enjoying myself I am now desperate to get home. Big football night last night with Ireland vEngland and then Finland v Greece - lively to say the least. Been to my favourite beach today, the water was so warm it was like being in a bath. Hope you’re all having a great Sunday 💙

What an amazing experience, great pics.

Morning all, weather very gloomy here. Finally managed to drop off to sleep last night then woken by next-door’s cat crying outside their bedroom window at 4.30, they apparently slept on…🤬.
Have a good day, all.💙
Roosters do the same for me every morning but I actually don’t mind it. I find it very restful despite the noise, calming almost.

There’s allotments near us and in the past some holders kept poultry. Our neighbours used to complain about the noise but, like you, the crowing didn’t bother me. It was like being in the country rather than the edge of town. Also don’t mind the sound of the fox barking, I’ve just got it in for cats ever since I was bitten by one.
