Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone,

Quite a bright crisp day today , in fact a lovely autumnal day even though autumn is my least favourite season.

Managed to get out of bed have a shave and a shower before getting dressed so I must be feeling better although still very little energy.

Anyway Mrs J dragging me to the nursery today as we developed plans to change our herbaceous border whilst we were away

Well she accepts that I'm not well enough to widen the border and dig the existing plants out she wants to go on a shopping expedition to buy their replacements. Ah well!

Whatever you do have a lovely day everyone.

Afternoon all, returned home from shopping this morning to find the internet hub light flashing. After switching on and off several times, texting BT helpline and having a conversation with the help bot 🙄 finally spoke to a human, who turned out to be a lovely girl from Stockport. She was unable to resolve the problem and booked an engineer. The first available appointment Thursday evening so no broadband until then. I hope I will be getting a refund from the extortionate amount we pay BT every quarter. I’m not holding my breath though.

@Armaghtoffee whilst I was stuck in bed I watched a piece on Rathlin Island. Looks absolutely wonderful. Have you been ?
I havebeen there once as a child, over and back for a day trip. My memory of it though is how the locals sound almost Scottish.

I saw the news reports on it today as they work to eradicate the island of ferrets and rats. Not an easy task you would think.

Strange you say that because Mrs J said that looks magnificent where in Scotland is it and I replied no idea but they all sound Irish.

My own accent is nothing like that and I’m about 2 hours away from there (Ballycastle). It’s fisherman country up there and I think the Scots and Irish just interchanged over the years hence the distinctive accent.

Well it’s my mates funeral tomorrow so you won’t be hearing from me. It’s a case of getting my wife’s early change done at 6-7 then preparing and getting ready before picking up a couple of friends to take to the Crematorium. Then drop them off back at the pub afterwards for the wake. We are all prepared, then home to do a second change for my wife before washing and dressing her for my son to look after. I can then go back to the wake, ensure everything is spot on with the staff, food, tables dressed etc then have a pint with my mates family and relax for a while……
