Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Well it’s my mates funeral tomorrow so you won’t be hearing from me. It’s a case of getting my wife’s early change done at 6-7 then preparing and getting ready before picking up a couple of friends to take to the Crematorium. Then drop them off back at the pub afterwards for the wake. We are all prepared, then home to do a second change for my wife before washing and dressing her for my son to look after. I can then go back to the wake, ensure everything is spot on with the staff, food, tables dressed etc then have a pint with my mates family and relax for a while……
Good luck with that Pete

That’s going to be a long and hard day for you. I hope you get to relax with a pint or two at the end of it

Morning everyone,

Good luck today @peteblue we will all be thinking of you .

Not looking forward to today. Still not feeling well ( getting a bit better every day but couldn't even think about going back to the gym or playing ping pong) and Mrs J gone to the shop leaving me with all the animals.

Wouldn't be a problem even when not feeling great but workies due to come tomorrow are now coming today. Should be fun, not

Anyway have a lovely day everyone.

Thanks guys. The day went really well and his family were well looked after. There were a few panics such as the non delivery of food and a few technical issues due to the village losing power between 9-11am, but our staff got everything sorted and did a great job. Apart from the staff I was the only one who was aware that there had been a few problems earlier in the day.

Anyway, again, thanks everybody and I hope you all had a nice day yesterday and an even better one today. Get well @jazzy …..

Well done Pete , not only for yesterday but for all the challenges thrown at you recently and with which you continue to deal with. Top man.

Continue to suffer from this bloody "cold" really don't know when I'm going to improve. Frustrating because there is loads to do in the garden apart from the remodelling plans that we developed on holiday.

Workies back again finishing off the repairs to the windows , nice lads actually.

Anyway can't do much so just catching up with all the nonsense on GOT.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Hi all. Glad the day went well @peteblue . Hope you get better soon @jazzy . Enjoy your baby cuddles @Val P . We have now completed everything on Dad's estate- all moneys shared out and an excellent exchange rate secured for the Aussie dollar. Such a relief.
I've been having an extra visitor for tea this week. My two gay friends who we go on holiday with, have been on a guided tour of India but had to fly home early when one of them got an infection in his leg. Long story short - he ended up in intensive care in Durham with sepsis, has had three operations on his leg to remove infected tissue. To be honest at one point we didn't think he was going to make it. He's still in intensive care but is awake and things seem to be heading in the right direction. He will have to have reconstructive surgery to rebuild his leg. So, his partner (who was one of the first people I made friends with when I started work in Durham 33 years ago) has been coming to be fed and watered after visiting time. It saves him having to go home and make himself something.
Chris's itching seems to have subsidised- hopefully the steroids are working and he can resume his treatment soon.
I'm at the doctors on Friday my first post check after 3 months of being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I really don't want to go on medication so I'm hoping the blood sugar levels have gone down. I've lost 14lbs since I was diagnosed. I'm very proud of that , considering that 12 days of the period was all inclusive in Cape Verde!
Have a lovely evening x
