Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hi all. Glad the day went well @peteblue . Hope you get better soon @jazzy . Enjoy your baby cuddles @Val P . We have now completed everything on Dad's estate- all moneys shared out and an excellent exchange rate secured for the Aussie dollar. Such a relief.
I've been having an extra visitor for tea this week. My two gay friends who we go on holiday with, have been on a guided tour of India but had to fly home early when one of them got an infection in his leg. Long story short - he ended up in intensive care in Durham with sepsis, has had three operations on his leg to remove infected tissue. To be honest at one point we didn't think he was going to make it. He's still in intensive care but is awake and things seem to be heading in the right direction. He will have to have reconstructive surgery to rebuild his leg. So, his partner (who was one of the first people I made friends with when I started work in Durham 33 years ago) has been coming to be fed and watered after visiting time. It saves him having to go home and make himself something.
Chris's itching seems to have subsidised- hopefully the steroids are working and he can resume his treatment soon.
I'm at the doctors on Friday my first post check after 3 months of being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I really don't want to go on medication so I'm hoping the blood sugar levels have gone down. I've lost 14lbs since I was diagnosed. I'm very proud of that , considering that 12 days of the period was all inclusive in Cape Verde!
Have a lovely evening x
Very well done on your weight loss and really pleased to hear that Chris’ itching has eased. How awful for your friend hope he continues to improve. Very thoughtful of you to keep his partner fed and watered, sure it has made a terrible situation a bit more bearable.💙

Well a reboot worked it seems .I have an old mac and the keyboard is on it's last legs so it was the wired cheapo that played up . Now both are working ! COYB
But the crucial technology question , the one we've all been waiting on with bated breath is.........does the karaoke machine work now and if so what was Mr and Mrs Bs first number?

Morning pedigree chums,

A bit grey and overcast here today.

Not getting any worse but far from sure I'm getting any better ! Still precious little energy and the cough is now of the tickly variety rather than chesty. A walk to the pharmacy beckons.

Watching a bit of cricket from Pakistan and England toiling.

Anyway have a lovely day everyone

Well our first duet was "Eight days a week " so it is up and running ,the problem is time and confidence are at a premium yet but I am warming to the idea of public ridicule .

Good morning all on this dark one here .I hope all are well after a good night and have a fine day today . I hope @jazzy made it there and back .with something for his ailment . Age is catching up on me as the wood project has had my back in so much pain I have needed a muscle relaxant ( therein lies a joke ) so strong I have had difficulty picking up the mike !!!! .I sorted the machine out by buying an old tv for 7€ for a charity shop that had the correct connector .The wife is little pleased with the aesthetics of a TV next to another but I have promised to move the small one when not in use ,yes I know but the intention is there .
Have a great day all ,the first rainy day will render my excuses meaningless less and I will have to succumb to demand and make a video but "Things can only get better " COYB

Morning all, and it looks like another nice day. Woke up to my husband telling me that he thinks Mourinho will be our next manager based on an interview he did last night. Don’t know what to think about that. If we change it might be nice to see a younger fresher man in charge.
Your karaoke sounds like fun @blue1948. I vowed I would never do karaoke until one night many moons ago after a couple of sherrys I was told off by the man running it at a friends party for swinging the mike around in the air having really got stage struck. I have to say that joining in with karaoke has a direct correlation with the amount of alcohol I have had. Sadly I’m one of those people that think they can sing when no one else does.
Hope everyone has a great Friday 💙

@anjelikaferrett I had the TV on this morning but not really paying attention ( following the cricket on my phone ) when an American voice came on and I thought oh "Biden sounds a bit more switched on today " glanced up and was gobsmacked to see it was Bruce Springsteen being interviewed.

Have you heard him speak recently? Honestly it's Joe Boden MkII
I watched him on Graham Norton on Friday. I've never noticed the similarity before but now you mention it......
