It's been heartwarming to read about your relationship with your dog mate. She gives you purpose and you're good for each other.

Thanks, she does really keep me going when I'm struggling, she's so funny as well, Beagles are cheeky little buggers and she always gives me a belly laugh, whether she's robbing my socks or telling me off if she doesn't like the way she's walking lol she's a belter, I am blessed to have her.

I'm going through a bit of a metal phase again at the minute lol she doesn't care, as long as I attend her every need(which consists of covering her in her blanket every time she moves) she's not bothered in the slightest. If I don't cover her, she stares at me until I do lol little bugger she is.

My mum n dad have a little Jack Russell (called Cricket) who loves Van Morrison. Will come and sit himself next to the speakers when Van is on but takes himself off to his bed when anything else is played lollol

Mrs Js mum , a very very fierce Scouser ,sadly passed away now loved the Rolling Stones.

One dog was called Jagger and predictably enough the other was called Mick.

I always thought it strange that she hated the Beatles , who I love.

Christmas Eve - hope you all have something lovely planned.

@Terrarian if the pain isn't too bad what about a different route for your walk with that lovely beagle and pop into a pub with him and have a swift half?

When I first moved up to Liverpool in 1982 there were a few things that struck me about drinking up here

1. A half is called a glass - never heard that elsewhere

2. When it's your round you never wait for you drinking buddy to finish their drink before getting the round in. Early on I went for a pint with Mrs Js dad. He got the first in and drank it quickly. I had only drank about a half. He had a quarter left looked at me with a sour look and said come on its your round. When I related the story to Mrs J she castigated me and put me straight.

3..Scousers, generally speaking , drink to get pissed , something I seem to have wholeheartedly embraced.

Anyway for Christmas Eve we will both prep the veg for tomorrow and then pop out to the pub for lunch.

Then some music with a glass of wine before we settle down to watch It's a Wonderful Life.

Anyway whatever you are doing guys have a great time.

We also sit around and sing carols and some play instruments and we have a visit form Santa every year ,sadly Markku ( the patriarch of the family ) always goes somewhere just before he arrives and misses his visit . It is an old way and no TV or radio ,something I have come to cherish .
