Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Been a very pleasant weather day today but spent 4 hours on one of my least favourite gardening jobs , moving lovely composted soil from the compost tip to a border ready to plant up in spring. It's back breaking work made worse by a puncture on my wheelbarrow 😆.

Done about a third. Fortunately there's no rush and I will just do it but by bit when we have decent weather. The forecast for Christmas Day looks good but I might draw the line !
When I had a job I didn't enjoy I would set a target then wehen reached I would do a bit more which then became a bonus mentally ,it did though give me pains everywhere now .So you do it the right way .

I forgot to mention that life really doesn’t get much worse, and sorry AT but there can’t be a God. My friend who died on Saturday happened to do so on his wife’s birthday. That in my mind is just too cruel for anyone as she now has to live with this for the rest of her life…..

My Mum died in the early hours of our son’s birthday. He no longer celebrates on that date, he waits til the next day.

Life is cruel Pete and you have seen far too much of that this past year.

Bloody hell @peteblue words fail me mate. Very sorry for your loss, and of course for the unimaginable pain that the poor man's wife must be going through. If anyone deserves a winning scratchcard this Chrimbo it is you, man.

@anjelikaferrett I was sorry to read about the little'un's kidney problems as well. If it is of any help, a lad I was in a band with in my misspent youth was born with one functioning kidney, which he didn't even learn about until he was in his 30s, I think. Never stopped him going drink for drink with me, or making terrible music with me so I am sure the wee man will be fine, and if I ever catch him down the boozer in 18 years or so I'll be sure to only buy him halves.

Just taking a swift break from work, now. Trying to get as much done as I can before the kids finish on Thursday (they broke up from school Friday just gone but mercifully school does a holiday club Mon-Thurs this week) so I can spend as much of the holiday as I can with them. More or less sorted for the big day; just got a couple of bits to wrap for the missus, turkey and main veg bits are on order for next week and got most of my recipes planned out. Can't wait to get baking some cookies with the boys, for Father Chrimbo; will all feel a bit more real, then.

Hope everyone else is having a boss day.
